I have little video making experience, never made a review before, a terribly boring voice, and a cheap microphone from a busted headset.
What I lack in everything else, I make up for by having played this game too much, so if you're curious about how this game has developed over the last 3 years, I have my own opinion to share.

Spoiler: It's good, but developing too slowly, and probably not worth getting into unless you're a returning player because the early grind is insane.

my friend got me into it like, two months ago and idk man, the grind really isn't that bad. the trial mechs were pretty decent for one. i didn't spend real money either
world of tanks grind is a LOT worse imo, just because it's so painful and it's forced. it's longer too if you take the low-tier grind into account, but the pain matters more. stock tanks are worse than their predecessor tanks half the time at high tiers, and if you don't have the free exp to get past it, then oh well. In MWO, you just stock up enough cbills and you're good, no stock grind. no having to play through low-tiers either cause that shit doesn't exist in MWO thankfully
I think it's unfair to talk about upgrades costing more than the mech cause like, the catapult costs 5 mil, but any Clan heavy is probably going to cost around 15 mil or so. After the upgrades, they both cost about the same. it's fine if you want to complain about mechs costing so much overall though. but, again, I still feel that it's so much less worse than WoT, since MWO doesn't have an explicit tiering system. in WoT, you have to work your way up from tiers 1-10 every time to get to the "end game", which takes much more time/money, pain, and effort than MWO.
at least in MWO you never lose money after a game. ammo and repair costs are ridiculous in WoT at higher tiers.
totally agree with you about the lack of a demoing/trialing new builds and mechs though. at least WoT comes with a test server every so often where you can dick around with any tank you want.
about the video itself, could probably be shorter cause 22 mins is a bit much

the mech bays limit is bullshit tho, i agree. WoT had the same issue a long time ago, I think it was also 4. This was before they added more nations and the yearly free [del]tank[/del] garage slot.
i agree with you with most of the vid actually, I just think WoT's grind is unbelievably worse
I haven't played world of tanks in a few years, so I can't speak for what's changed. I feel like having a low early game grind is a huge plus though, because by the time I was half-way through it, I had a large roster of low-tier tanks to play with. Same with War Thunder. Whenever the vertical grind got too hard, I could always grind for a different faction or something instead and get more low-tier vehicles.
In Mechwarrior Online, I was stuck with my starter mech for far too long. My second mech took most of a month to get.
Still, as a whole, the grind in Mechwarrior Online is definitely one of the better ones late-game. You don't have to pay for repairs or ammunition, and most mechs are compettitive at all levels. For a new player though, I feel that's almost irrelevant, because if you get far enough to realize it, then you don't need someone telling you if the game is worth your time. You've already invested it to get that far.
As for clan mech costs vs Inner Sphere mech costs, you're right, but since the costs end up being the same in the end I didn't bother talking about the differences.
Thanks for the feedback. I get the feeling that how bad the game's grind is is not something everyone agrees on, so maybe I attacked it too harshly. It might be that my early game grind involved none of the sales or events that the game has often now though.
What kinda made MWO click for me is that light mechs are actually really fun and effective, not just a "lower-tier" mech.
I wasn't fighting particularly brilliant enemies but the video does demonstrate how Assault mechs are utterly screwed without support:
