From what I've heard, this movie is supposed to be fantastic, which is not surprising considering Bo Burnham is a genius with his material.
Nice to see Perfume Genius getting some exposure in this trailer/movie. This is a definite watch, I love movies like this
this looks really promising. After how heavy his last special was and him taking a break right after I was wondering what he would make next. If any of y'all haven't seen his special Make Happy you should definitely check it out, it's on netflix
I'll admit, I laughed when the teacher said "it's gonna be lit." Reminds me of the time one of my professors used the phrase shitburger to describe someone.
Most of the trailer makes it seem like a modern coming of age film, I just wonder how Bo's going to make it stand out. From the interviews he's done about it, he seems very proud of it and engaged in the project as a whole.

Honestly gonna be great seeing a "coming of age" film... i mean, we get some here and there. but it just seems like the ones from the 80's either no longer apply or just flat out never applied and the ones we've been getting post 2000 always end up being some downer gloomfest exploring why X classmate killed herself or why Y classmate shot up the school. It's gonna be refreshing to see a movie with actual characters and not just a stereotype-fest constructed solely to preach about not being an edgelord...
I guess i'm saying i hope it's actually gonna be relevant to modern youth.

To be fair, those things are a good bit more relatable when you're growing up post 2000.

True, but it's not about being a youth in that era. It's just about ignorant assholes preaching on shit they politically can't be arsed to change. It's just another way of sweeping the guns and lack of mental healthcare under the rug and shift the issue. It's shifting the blame of the shooting from a fucked up country to the kids in said country. it's actual "Victim Blaming" at that point.

And if you can't be arsed to check that out, check out this clip from it:

That was a hell of an end to his last special, really sad
I always appreciated his honesty with his job as a preformer. His special before that ended on a similar note, not as depressing though.

I mostly meant the killing themselves. Nobody hasn't had someone kill themselves in middle or high school.
