Alright, In Late August of 2008, my friends and I decided to do another rube Goldberg device, and we would raise the American flag. One month later, it was finished, and we video taped it. We were originally going to upload it, but my friends brother, who used the computer after us, decided to delete the movie. Us, being dumb, thought the entire thing was gone forever. We moved on. Fast forward to yesterday. We were playing music on the computer, and looking at his pictures from picasa when we stumble upon a pictures folder called 'Contraption videos' We were really excited, and worked for around an hour to restore it to it's former glory. Here it is. Here is the description: "Rube Goldberg Contraption. This was shot in multiple segments to ensure maximum visbility and kickin' rad views. The Contraption has run through many times without failing, but the video positioning was poor quality."
Golden.
The part with the golf ball rolling on the books was impressive actually.
Holy Fuck nostalgia attack from the colourful bricks!
I'm guessing you set it up multiple times to get all the shots (unless you had a few cameras) so did you manage to get it to work all in one go at least once?
I didn't like the way it was shot, would've been better with a continuous shot.

We decided to go the cinematic path and get good angles so that you could tell what was going on. It was just too spread out for one shot.
Sounds good, I'd never be able to get enough original idea for contraptions though.
We watched a lot of Youtube videos to find some ideas, but we came up with the other half. The ideas came over the course of a month-ish, so we had time.
Wow. I used to have those colourful tubes that the marbles go through. Nostalgic.
Holy Fuck nostalgia attack from the colourful bricks!
Holy shit me too. [editline]01:14PM[/editline] I have my own rube goldberg for a science project a year ago, I might be able to find it.
Only one problem. The camera angles were a bit restrictive. It needs wider angles so that I can see the scale, and see how th different sections intergrate, as opposed to seeing each part individually.
c'est interéssant
Pretty good. Nostalgia on the marble track part.
Would have been so much better if you paid a drunk guy to sing the american national anthem as the flag came up...
man I used to love that marble tube thing where you make your own thing
This reminds me of the show ZOOM.
