I'm failing to see why they compare this to Lion King, the movie in which my 7 year old self saw three times in theaters, which had traditional animation and brilliant music composition.
Now I'm not trying to look at this through nostalgia goggles, but I think the smooth, cartoony 3D animation has sort of lost it's charm, and isn't very innovative. Why can't they at least do a hybrid like that Paperman (or whatever it was called) short, or a whole new style?

If you freeze the frame it's the usual cartoon "impaled just at the edge of the fabric" thingy.
Why does the snow change it's texture. At times it looks spotless like milk then pretty realistic. It bothers me a bit.
Also I bet there's an emotional scene at the end where the snowman melts.

Or at least experiment with stories a bit more than the standard fairytale-esque formulae
