This must be the silliest trailer I have ever seen. The game looks extremely beautiful but the trailer doesn't do it any justice.I could go into details about buildup and a 180 degree rule and what the hell is up with the DoF

wait so wtf they're not making it a part of the main game? it's going to be seperate one entirely? I wouldn't have minded paying for an expansion or whatever, but this really seems like it's going to divide the already small playerbase of Verdun unnecessarily. [editline]24th May 2017[/editline] Ok so it seems they're working to minimize fracturing the community
As the Russian Empire faces off against the Austro-Hungarians and their German allies, it will feature new squads, weapons and maps, along with a new 64 player game mode. Expect to fight across open fields, and adjust your tactics accordingly. While it can be bought and played without owning Verdun, Tannenberg is closely linked to Verdun (you’ll be able to easily switch from one to the other as you play). This also means that the release of Tannenberg won’t signal the end of support for Verdun, so don't worry on that front.
Anyone remember The Trench? I remember I got a lot of shit back in the day for saying it looked like garbage. But it's still not out yet and it still looks like... this:
I mean The Trench is being developed by one man (not even full time iirc) so I've always given it's graphics a slide just for being that, a project being developed wholly by someone who doesn't really have a lot of experience in every field of game development. However, I stopped believing it's ever going to come out ages ago. In fact, it should have come out ages ago. Cyril, the dev, doesn't communicate nearly enough for me to have any faith in that project anymore. The shiny eyed kid who was really looking forward to The Trench stopped years ago. It sucks cuz honestly The Trench is my dream game (singleplayer FPS/RPG hybrid set in WWI) but the fact that it's never ever going to come out is disheartening. I mean yeah, Verdun was dead at one point. It's development originally started 2006ish, and by 2011-2012 the main Developer (Leo) was completely silent. All that was left were two short silent clips of some testing they did (each was like 20 seconds long), and the old Verdun forums (gone since it started its open browser based testing). Then suddenly the game reappeared. Open alpha testing (in browser), then it made its way to Beta on Steam via greenlight and early access. And now it's here, a lot different than it was even at release out of the beta - getting an expansion. Maybe I could have a bit more faith in The Trench, but man it's hard to once so many release dates have come and gone, and the only developer is nearly entirely silent. We don't even have a reason why the forums/websites have been down for maintenance since like November/December of last year.
If it's Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm style expansion, so you can play both in the same game. Then it's fine, making it separate would just split the community in vain though.
I'll get it, I love playing Verdun. I'd love to play something with bigger maps and larger amounts of players.
Didn't Tannenberg end in 1917 due to the collapse of the Russian empire from the revolt? If so and my memory is correct why does it say - 1918 there?

Isn't Verdun dead? Also, I have a 1080 and that game still runs like sluggish garbage.
It's still fairly active, iirc. I played it a couple months ago.
I played it yesterday and there was at least 2 full servers, I'm sure a new game will bring people back.

So are WW1 Shooters the new trend for FPS games?
