Figured I'd post an updated video of my aquarium since a few people seemed to enjoy it, I've gotten some new fish and the others have grown a bit.
Nice tank you really need some more expansive decorations, more plants, and hiding places. [editline]3rd July 2012[/editline] Also how many gallons is the tank?
Yaaaaay cichlids! I have convicts and electric yellow cichlids myself, they're my favorite freshwater fish because they're so dang smart and have great colors! I'll post em in a second :) My convicts:

It's a 75 gallon tank.
Yaaaaay cichlids! Wow it didn't look like a 75 gallon tank. I'm currently breeding Tilapia.
Has just a little more length then my buddy's 55, but far more depth, but yea, it's a 75. I've wanted to try and set up my old 35 gallon as a breed tank, but I've mostly got males. Plus I've never done it. Here's another video, you can tell the size a little better in this one i think, just fyi, the biggest fish in there (the 2 electric blues and the large dolphin cichlid, or atleast i think he's a dolphin cichlid lol, are about 2 1/2 inches to 3 inches)
I have a cichlid... one cichlid... Accidentally, too. You see, I order fish from LiveAquaria and one day I put in an order for two Bumblebee gobys: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=830+954+978&pcatid=978 When I got my box, inside were two bumblebee cichlids. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=830+831+2531&pcatid=2531 They were tiny and I had a tank laying around so I decided to keep them. One day I wake to find there's only one left alive. As it turns out, they're the most aggressive species of cichlid, and will pretty much destroy any living thing in the tank other than themselves. Didn't know this at the time, however, and the guy at the local fish store said "Sure! they could have other tank mates!" One by one they all but vanished. I still have the fish, his name is Bruno. He lives alone in a 55 gallon tank with the only thing he can't kill, an albino plecostomus that's much bigger than himself. He's just about out grown that tank so It's time to either give him away to the store, or find a bigger tank for him. He's pretty smart. Cool fish. Well, other than the fact that he's a serial killer. [editline]4th July 2012[/editline] Cichlids are incredibly smart.
I watched a documentary on cichlids awhile back. Apparently there's this massive lake in Africa where there are hundreds upon hundreds of different species of cichlids that have adapted to the different conditions of the lake, ranging from peaceful vegetarians to fish that'll shred your face off if you so much as look at the water :v: They're crazy for being such a widely sold critter.

(they like to lock jaws and shake each other around the tank when they're not chasing everything else around the tank, i've just been trying to stock more fish to keep them from killing anything, and it's been working fairly well.) On a serious note, I've never ordered fish online, live aquaria pretty good? would you recommend them? Only time i ever lose a fish is if i plop one in there by himself, then they just rape the shit out of it. Great video post btw.
Lake Malawi Cichlid's er'where. There's also Lake Tanganyika, Lake Victoria, pretty much any of the African Great Lakes. Great video post btw.
I bought a lot of stuff from them back when I was building my reef tank. Haven't really bought much as of late, due to the possibility of moving in a year or so. I'd definitely recommend them, along with their other sites. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/fish-supplies/pr/c/3578 http://www.peteducation.com/ Really helped me a lot with setting up my reef tank. Their stock changes from time to time and they have two shipping centers, one in California and one in Wisconsin. Watch out what you buy because if you buy a bunch of fish but they come from different shipping locations, they'll pin two shipping costs on you, which is around 30 bucks due to the haste of the delivery. The fish arrive in a bag, put in a Styrofoam cooler full of packing peanuts, that's put in a box. [editline]4th July 2012[/editline] If your fish is KIA when you open the box, they'll give you a new one or refund you no questions asked. [editline]4th July 2012[/editline] They even have tank bred Zebra Plecos: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=830+837+1136&pcatid=1136 A fish that will probably go extinct (in nature) when Brazil builds the belo monte dam. I bet it must feel awful to have one of those die in your tank. Witnessing the end of a species in your own home...
OvB, I think this calls for some pics of your tank.
I'll post some if I can find them. Might be on my laptop. I've been busy today and the lights are off at the moment so no good for pictures.
