Wow that..wow. That was crazy close to taking alot of lives.
I'd hate to be that pilot right now.
Holy shit that was wild. It's astonishing that there was no casualties. Also, what an awful censoring job. Why even bother?
wow that is some crazy footage
glad it was a decent camera too
Damn, that was too close.

from the video -
"If it wasn't for the decision of our First Sergeant, three of our guys would have died in that wooden building which was shredded by shrapnel."
They cut that really close.
Wow that second angle.
The guy on the radio tho
"Do you guys have any casualties this time?"
The guy on the radio tho

He said "Do you guys have any casualties AT this time"

I think the audio was cutting out or they cut out names..
But god damn, luckiest sons of bitches on the planet right there. Imagine if it was just a few feet over more, would have hit that whole group of them.

must be a gopro
Imagine being the guys on the 2nd angle....It looked like the bomb was dropped right on the top and likely killed all the guys up there.
Explanation:
After spotting Taliban forces on a distant ridge line, U.S. Army mortar teams engage with 60mm mortars. A simultaneous airstrike is called in which accidentally drops a 500 pound bomb on a U.S. Army infantry outpost, mistaking the position for Taliban fighters.
Did they not use coordinates?
Do pilots eyeball their damn targets?
Airforce get your shit together.
Those two people at the top of the tower looked pretty shooken up, I hope they're alright.

They are flying really fast and don't have Eagle eye vision to see everything that's on the ground. Another situation is when air support is called in as hostile are near friendlies so the pilot would more or less drop bombs near their own soldiers. It was by accident for this one.

Neat little interview between FUNKER and the cameraman of the video
Man that pilot probably never heard the end of it from his CO. That was really, really close.

I think that if they were really lucky, they wouldn't have had a bomb dropped on them
I think that if they were really lucky, they wouldn't have had a bomb dropped on them
No, that would've been a normal day, they're lucky as fuck that it didn't actually kill anyone.
Joe bay? Are you telling me that bomb hit shit LITERALLY?
Christ alive I would've probably shit myself with a force greater than that bomb if that happened. Wow, feel pretty sorry for those guys and knowing how close they came to being dust.
Somebody on the comments said either bad gridmap, or bad lase.
If the pilot accidentally dropped the bomb the fuse wouldn't have set the bomb off. So I'm thinking somewhere someone fucked up the info.
More than likely with such an incident involving friendly fire, there would probably be some massive investigation. 'Heavy' guys like colonels and officers would be trying to find out what caused the pilot to bomb the outpost. It could be anybody from either the pilot himself or the forward observer or somebody in between that fucked up the coordinates or gave the pilot a bad target.
I just want to hear what the conversation would be between the person responsible for dropping the bomb and his higher up

No, it cuts out whenever they say "Fuck"
Explanation:
So that means that even if they were taliban fighters, the bomb wouldn't have killed any of them.
A failure of a bomb drop both ways.

I was thinking that too, but damn if it wouldn't shake up any operations for a while. An (unintentional) warning shot up your nose would probably be enough for most people to book it out of there before the bomber makes a second pass
