Probably the only video game trailer where my brain thinks the in game footage is reality.
I want to believe that this game will be good, but the Need for Speed series has let me down too many times before
I want to believe I haven't enjoyed a NFS title in a long time, BUT this does look (from the minimal amount of content I've seen so far) better than the last title.
Whats up with the graphics?
Whats up with the graphics?
What about them?
What about them?
DoF uses some super cheap algorithm (see the edges) Decal textures suck Road textures suck (though hard to tell, since most shots are taken during high speed movement, and motion blur is in place) Also, I think they're using some form of checkerboard rendering, the edges look weird, and not just TAA weird. But that's okay, since it's 4K, it's to be expected, really [t]https://i.imgur.com/r6hIm0R.jpg[/t] [t]https://i.imgur.com/nyFaYSo.jpg[/t]
What about them?
Looks downgraded, no? Then again I might be wrong since I haven't played the last NFS, only seen bunch of gameplay trailers.
The last NFS looked very pretty until you stopped and looked at the surroundings, this is a pretty massive step up compared to that one. The last NFS had horrid texture and model work on everything that wasn't a car, but it was hidden behind visual filters and the darkness of night.
I hope Ghost Games learned from NFS 2015 and made the driving actually feel like you're doing something. The previous game was a racing equivalent of an on-rails shooter. So, Road Avenger, I guess.
wow, cool, I guess EA will just shamelessly rip off Forza Horizon's barn finds lol
wow, cool, I guess EA will just shamelessly rip off Forza Horizon's barn finds lol
and the crew's fucking wank garbage random car part system
The last need for speed game was great, and I put a ton of hours into it, so a new one with a much more interesting map should be amazing.
damn son it's like forza horizon without the stupid xbone(+PC ) exclusivity i already liked the last NFS so i'm definitely buying this hopefully all the cars actually have plenty of parts this time so i won't have to stare at 'NO PARTS AVAILABLE' 99% of the time [sp]did EA yank some indian dude from their shitty outsourced tech support to voice the trailer[/sp]
damn son it's like forza horizon without the stupid xbone(+PC ) exclusivity
Forza is also on PC. That ninja edit
and the crew's fucking wank garbage random car part system
10bux says you'll be able to buy "performance card shipments." This version of performance upgrading is purely to pad out the game and introduce micro transactions. I really want the game to be good but I'm hugely skeptical.
I've lost all faith with NFS, I've really been enjoying Forza specifically because of the controls.
NFS 2015 was like fucking crack to me so I am ready for even more crack [editline]26th July 2017[/editline] Also how can you say those graphics look bad?? Do I have low standards or something because that shit looks fucking real to me
Oh jesus, looks ricey as hell, just like Underground. I think i'll stick with Assetto Corsa...
idk... it seems just like Forza Horizon 3, but with cops of course. It would have to top that game to get my purchase.
The last one I enjoyed was NFS Most Wanted (2005) but I have always wanted a game where the modifications are few and far between, working up from a rusty piece of shit. Liked the idea of permanent damage and having to shop around for replacement parts on a pseudo-eBay, having a door missing for a few days or having to respray some panels yourself as you can't afford to get it done professionally. I know this isn't that but I feel we're getting closer
Wow we're back to underground 1 levels of customization. Am I supposed to be impressed? Whatever happened to shit like Autosculpt in NFS Carbon?

The games that haven't had deep customization have been a let down to me.
Whatever happened to shit like Autosculpt in NFS Carbon?
Autosculpt must've been a black box thing because since they've gotten shitcanned we haven't seen autoscupt since. Bring back black box and they can make NFS great again.
hopefully the driving is better in this one bc the handling in the last one was shit
I actually liked the last Need for Speed. I got it for 5 bucks because of the Origin accses thingy. My thing I hated most about it was that it was always night.
I had a lot of fun with NFS2015. My gripes with it were: AI sucked. They were not a challenge at all, this broke races, team drift, and police chases Being forced to use specific cars in certain missions. The screen flashes white when you complete a race, this is disorienting when you play in the dark
Carbon was the last good nfs.
Wow we're back to underground 1 levels of customization. Am I supposed to be impressed? Whatever happened to shit like Autosculpt in NFS Carbon?
i'd say it's below ug1 levels depending on how heavily you weight the wrap/livery editor honestly autosculpt sounded cooler than it actually ended up being since you can only autosculpt the specific Autosculpt Parts and most of the time the aftermarket parts looked better anyway. prostreet improved by letting you autosculpt any part but was limited in options and had the dumb "slider more to the right = faster car" dynamic
Carbon was the last good nfs.
nah dude prostreet was great and underrated, hot pursuit 2010 is honestly one of the best in the series, the run was flawed but decent, and mw2012 was good but shouldn't have been called "most wanted"

Having a car you worked on and saved up for only to have to use a weaker car (???) (depending on where you are in the story) was a really strange decision and it only felt like artificial challenge. Also NFS2015's story was beyond awful, it was an absolutely cringey patronizing of both video game players and car culture filled with "super edgy but not too edgy for the kids" acting [editline]27th July 2017[/editline] I guess I like in-game cutscenes returning, but I will say that I'll miss 2015's interweaving of car models and live action footage, really impressive how they would combine the two on the go.

I don't mean the mission where you have to win in a sub 200hp car, I mean having to drive magnus walker's and Morohoshi's 911s. They handled like shit and I was expected to do a high level race with a car I was not used to that didn't drive like I wanted it to
