Does this one use an updated flight model or something? I thought there already was an Su-33?

Updated flight model, better avionics, and it's actually carrier-capable now.
Oh it's an update of the existing one then? Just like how the Su-27 was?
I might have to check this plane out again.
I got a HOTAS warthog for MSX and eventually (10+ years) Star Citizen, and DCS was one of my first purchases.
This game is like accidentally finding yourself at the top of a bowl instead of the bunny hill when learning how to ski or snowboard.

I don't even want to think about taking off from a carrier in a Russian jet.

It was carrier capable before, it just had really awful physics when landing.
Is Crimea in EDGE now?

There's been some talk of the updated 2.5 Caucasus map possibly containing the Crimean peninsula again, but I don't think it's been confirmed. I hope so, but don't count on it.

Looks like they're finally starting to work on new effects.

I read that the warthog hotas don't have wrist support, so I guess you use peddles? Which is why I bought the VKB MK II Gladiator instead.
its a clone of the a10 crontrols why would it have twist rudder? saying that i like how the one you mentioned is fairly low cost modular, even has a extension for a simpit setup, does it have a strong lockout for the twist? my x52 died and i never replaced it

pedals are something you can live without but if your spending hundreds on dcs modules or fsx payware just buy some its more enjoyable in the longrun, pretty much the same reason i think its best to spend more on a t300/t500 if your into racing sims you have a great system and dont feel the need to upgrade or buy new equipment unless your going for a top of the line setup

This part is nonmoving on the Saturn AL-31 engines.

Wouldn't you think it would be kinda silly to have these parts moving when they are not at all shaped like a blade? They would be counterproductive in sucking air in.
I'm happy ED is past the WW2 stuff now, I always liked DCS for contemporary air combat and planes.
