I was thinking the other day how odd it is that this game is out in just over a week yet we've only really had a handful of images and pretty much the same gameplay trailer shown over and over again. It's nice to finally get some new footage, it might just be me but especially of all of the tiny details.
10 days dammit
I'm looking forward to the full video. Someone will bound to put up the entire thing on YouTube. It's going to be amazing!
Shit I wish I had money :(
Kind of makes me look back at this.

Bethesda need to fire all their animators. I've seen footage of skyrim and it's no better anims wise. How can they not get such a simple thing right?

3d animation isn't easy.
3d animation isn't easy.
That doesn't mean it's okay for a game to have the animations that are barely any better than something someone who just started studying 3d animation might make.

You have to remember though, everything we've seen is on the console version. The PC version is bound to be more tightly cut, more polished, more detailed, more everything. Besides, if the game doesn't turn out the way you wanted it to, just wait 6 months for modders to do what you want or do it yourself.

Are you implying that they left all the animation placeholders in the console version but made new ones exclusively for the PC? What's that based on exactly?
Also, they seem to do motion capture these days. So that's quite a step upwards from Oblivion.

You don't know anything about game development do you? Stop living all ignorant like. It's not bliss like they say it is. The animations will look the same, the textures won't be 10x better, and model details with the same, etc. It's the mods that change everything.
You need to understand, when a game is developed for several systems each version must run and look similar to each other. If they made one version better than all the others, then the other systems wouldn't sell.

The animations aren't going to change. Bethesda's animators are all fucking terrible, that's a fact.
And it doesn't matter whether it's the console version or not, the graphics will be ugly no matter what. They haven't shown a single shot of the game that actually looked nice, I doubt they're gonna suddenly make everything look good in a month.

You gotta admit though, looks letter than Oblivion.

It does, but that's really not saying much.
I think it's far-fetched to expect Bethesda to perform a technological advancement in terms of graphics for Skyrim. But in terms of gameplay, it should be glorious. I still think the game's visuals look great though!
I got goose bumbs
It is amazing

You better send them a job application so that you can make sure that the next TES game has top notch animation.

Oh look, it's the "you can't do better so you can't criticize this" argument. Well, I guess the whole discussion is just finished now.

I didn't say that. I just think it's silly that everyone is saying that they're doing a horrible job with this game when they don't know much about how complicated it must be to do a game like that. I think the game looks nice and will probably be very enjoyable experience even if the textures are occasionaly blurry and the animations could use some work.
And everyone is also implying that the graphics should be out of this world, because they have a "new" engine now. Howards said himself that this isn't a NEW engine, because they didn't build one from scratch. They just took bits and pieces from the old engine and made some changes and added new stuff to it and then it became a "new" engine, because it had really no resemblance to the old engine. Bottom line is that this is still more or less Gamebryo no matter what they call it.
I saw a BLU team mug
I dont think the graphics are really as bad as some of you are making out, it looks better than oblivion, so Im quite happy, besides, the gameplay surely will make up for it.
I was a BLU mug
Loving the soundtrack and Nordic shit.
It's shame I can never get into the combat in any of the elder scroll games. Its either button mashing, my stat over your stat or hold button to win game with OP magic beam. Its got alot of detail but all in all its nothing special or new.
I'll probably get it when people start making mods. Say what you want but right now the textures and animations look like a mess. The art design on the other hand.
I bought Battlefield 3 on Xbox because i have a shit computer and i wish i never bought it, but i rather have it on Xbox than buy new expensive computer, now i dont have money for Skyrim.. :smith:
My mouth literally dropped open when he flipped open that book.
Looks awful.
Sometimes i wish developers would stop experimenting, and just build upon what was a success in the previous games. Skyrim is going to be a very different experience, most likely for the worse.

How is it? It's not completely different from Oblivion.

They have changed alot in regards to attributes and skills, and other primary mechanics from previous games. They should add and polish what is there, not remove it entirely.
Oblivion was already a step down in the complexity department, but was still great. Skyrim seems to take it even further, this time too far.
