First of all to cut down costs obviously and second lgl has a lot of experience working in the engine as they made a lot of dlc for Payday 2 and adding new mechanics like drivable cars and parachutes
Looking at the screenshots and gameplay it looks like a total conversion mod for Payday 2 more than anything.

Hasn't Star Breeze sucked enough fucking money out of steam users. Jesus fucking christ all there bullshit PD2 DLCs cost more than the fucking game 3 times over. Knowing the diesel engine I bet I can clip through the world like I could in payday 2.
