It's pretty cool but I hope to God that the ending won't depend if I killed everyone or not. I get it that things can go bad if you kill a lot of people, but I don't agree that it determines your characters personality and beliefs.
The first game had a trailer like this that got me super excited, too. Also, anyone else get some Darkness vibes from Emily's abilities?

That last bit with the Corvo time freeze is fantastic. I just hope the resource in this game isn't as limited as in the first, I was always hesitant to use my abilities much since I'd have to scavenge for the elixirs.
I always prefer stealth over combat. I like the challenge.
Corvo sounds like a less gravelly Daud [editline]21st September 2016[/editline]
It's pretty cool but I hope to God that the ending won't depend if I killed everyone or not. That Corvo kick looks fun as fuck
Kinda off putting how low framerate the actual gameplay is compared to the 60fps slideshows. The actual gameplay looks fantastic though.
Seems like Emily will have all the new powers while Corvo's will get some upgrades. It's possible the player just used more elixirs during his showcase but Corvo's bend time ability seemed used quite often, in a sort of on/off way. That would be worth like 3 elixirs at least.
HOLY SHIT Corvo is voiced by Stephen Russell, AKA. the original voice for Garrett from the Thief series. We have come full circle! This is fucking awesome. Super late on this but I never realized. Now I'm considerably more interested in the game.

It makes me wonder if they took some notes from him.

Daaaamn I usually always go non-lethal the first time through but... Lethal looks so fun in this game.
I always prefer stealth over combat. I like the challenge.
I hope they've added creative ways to pacify enemies this time. Creative kills are fine and dandy, but stealth play-throughs shouldn't be so limited compared to the combat.

As far as powers go, it's really hard to beat the power to stop time. It's always a lot of fun to mess with stopped time, and it looks like it's a toggle now instead of a set duration. That said, Emily's powers also seem pretty neat, but have a different playstyle of their own. I'm kinda looking forward to this now.
I always prefer stealth over combat. I like the challenge.
Totally agree, I love cranking that difficulty way up, Lowering that gamma and getting that really enjoyable stealth experience, So good. Real excited for this game.
This trailer seems a little bloody, It should be interesting to see if any of the new abilities integrate into my stealth runs. I can imagine the time stopping would be fairly handy but as for everything else? I honestly don't know.
Does this feel more robotic than the first game to anyone else? I know this is just a trailer and that marketing teams have a knack for fucking things up, but still. The first game was already easy on the hardest difficulty due to combat mechanics and even limited magic use wreaking havoc. A "stealthy" character like corvo kicking enemies into oblivion sounds too easy and ridiculous. [editline]22nd September 2016[/editline] loving the ability to ration out the time stop, though

On the hardest difficulty though, pure chaos runs are really hard and can get very chaotic and fun depending on how you go about it. But I find that's true about most games in this vein.

One time it told me some guard I was about to stab spends all of his time off his post searching for his missing sister. And another visits his senile father at the asylum. I actually wish there was more sympathetic lines. Most of them were like "He rapes children in his freetime" or "He had his cousin murdered after he tried raping her"

I hope they also show off some of the new non-lethal stuff, since that style of play was pretty limited before. Also, as cool as the lethal play style looks, what's the point of it if the game will actively punish you for playing that way?

My problem is mainly with how Dishonored (and many other games with morality systems) deals with endings. You're told that you can play the game however you want, except if you don't play it the most objectively morally correct way (and the morality is REALLY questionable in Dishonored), you get a "bad" ending, instead of just a different ending. It's even worse in the DLC, where the ending differences are also tied to how many people you killed, even though it makes absolutely no sense.

The chaos ending thing I had a problem with was probably the ending to the Daud DLC where [sp]Corvo's decision to kill you depends on how many people you killed.[/sp] How does that make any sense? It was [sp]my decision in the main game and he had no way of knowing that.[/sp]
The chaos ending thing I had a problem with was probably the ending to the Daud DLC where [sp]Corvo's decision to kill you depends on how many people you killed.[/sp] How does that make any sense? It was [sp]my decision in the main game and he had no way of knowing that.[/sp]
I take it as an extension of the morality theme the game runs on. Just as Corvo's deeds affect the people and politics of Dunwall (masked villain murdering guards lending trust to the corrupt state, or a vigilante whisking away corrupt nobles causing people to rethink their allegiances?), Daud's impact on the empire would not have gone unnoticed by Corvo. There's a lot of off-screen time you can imagine Corvo spending at the Hound Pits Pub in which he gets to really feel what it's like to live in Dunwall. If Daud is raising the tension, it isn't unimaginable to think that Corvo would be aware. After all, there were those brewery guys talking about Daud as a well-known mysterious figure (much like the masked assassin people don't know is Corvo). Did Corvo hear talk of the butcher Daud who slew guards or servants of the Barrister? Don't you think Corvo would more strongly consider sparing a sad man with regrets than someone he keeps hearing of as a crazed assassin? I think that's a lot more interesting than just taking data from your previous campaign save. [editline]23rd September 2016[/editline] people who complain about the endings are fans of the gameplay, but not fans of the story i really hope the developers improve upon these concepts instead of stripping them out due to popular demand
