Really liking that artstyle.
Wonder if this is actually going to be Peter or if Dan Slott's pet project will be playing the part. [editline]•[/editline] I also wonder if they're finally going to get me to think Miles can be a good character now that Benis is out of the picture and a different writer is involved.
this trailer definitely needs more chromatic aberration
Woooooah okay, so Sony are getting their Spider-Verse film. If this is just a straight up crazy Spider-Man crossover film, entirely self-contained, that's pretty damn interesting that they'd actually take that risk.
Eyyyy time for another Phil Lord and Chris Miller film. Their Han Solo film may have gone to shit (which might explain why they don’t even get mentioned in this lol) but I still love those guys. Can’t wait.
looks stunning. and let's hope the best spider-man appears [media]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1PePr8hAsc[/media]
Wonder who'll be Peter Parker in this movie? Tom Holland or someone else?
[QUOTE=Mio Akiyama;52961980]Wonder who'll be Peter Parker in this movie? Tom Holland or someone else?[/QUOTE] Tobey please. [editline]9th December 2017[/editline] You know they could probably shove Tugboat or Garfield into this if they wanted.
Considering the entire initial idea for this was having Maguire, Holland and Garfield in the same movie I imagine they'll all be here since its a spider-verse film. My real question is who was the original Peter Parker of Miles' universe because the Peter he's talking to at the end seemed pretty big compared to Ultimate Peter Parker though this Peter seems to have died when he was 26/7 going by the grave. Peter Parker. [editline]9th December 2017[/editline] Also I bet this is how Sony plans on making the split between the Venom film and the MCU clear. Which it still won't be too many casual fans. [editline]9th December 2017[/editline] All those Spider-Logos that show up before Miles. Hopefully that'll give us a good indication of which Spider-Men are in
Holy shit, that artstyle's fucking gorgeous.
Oh also this was written by Phil Lord and Chris Miller of Lego Movie/21 Jump Street Fame and the story is by Alex Hirsch of Gravity Falls [editline]9th December 2017[/editline] If this starts a trend of animated superhero films that actually have a lot of talent behind them and come out in theatres I'll be very happy. DCs direct-to-video has been lacking for awhile
The faces remind me of telltale, except not disgusting.
[QUOTE=Lime-alicious;52962033]The faces remind me of telltale, except not disgusting.[/QUOTE] Felling more overwatch for me. Probably because I can actually read emotions on them.[DEL][/DEL]
so marvels gonna kick DCs ass in animation aswell now?
I wonder if they can make Miles something distinct and not just Peter Parker but Black this time.
[QUOTE=autodesknoob;52962062]so marvels gonna kick DCs ass in animation aswell now?[/QUOTE] Sony. [editline]9th December 2017[/editline] Marvels animation department is still worse than DC's by far.
That half-toning effect on shadows and highlights looks gorgeous. [t]https://i.imgur.com/thaaGdZ.jpg[/t] [t]https://i.imgur.com/xRttvDA.jpg[/t] [t]https://i.imgur.com/Le7Yfda.jpg[/t]
[QUOTE=cyclocius;52962067]I wonder if they can make Miles something distinct and not just Peter Parker but Black this time.[/QUOTE] I wonder if he'll have his instant win kill button power that robs all of his fights of any actual tension.
If this has Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions-esque different styles for each Spider-Man/world, I'm gonna nut. Ah heavily shadowed black and white Spider-Noir world, a Tron: Legacy-esque 2099 world, a Pixar-esque normal Peter, an anime inspired SPUIDAH MAN, a heavy-pastilled Spider-Gwen world and maybe even a 2D Spidey. GIVE ME MORE HIGH BUDGET ANIMATED SUPERHERO FILMS THAT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE MEDIUM PLEASE

[QUOTE=cyclocius;52962067]I wonder if they can make Miles something distinct and not just Peter Parker but Black this time.[/QUOTE] I thought Miles was pretty distinct though, at least when I read the comics he had different powers than Peter. My favorite change was the Venom Sting power and the fact he didn't even use webs. Seems like that has changed in this movie though. He was also thrown into main continuity where he has no reason to exist and is completely redundant. Thanks Bendis. [editline]9th December 2017[/editline] When you can zap Black Heart with a poke and beat him, and Ghost Rider cant do the same with his Penance Stare, you need to tone that character the fuck down.

I really enjoyed the way he was when I was reading them, haven't read anything recent though.
I'm surprised they decided to animate the movie on ones [I]and[/I] twos, but I'm sure glad they did. I love that blocked out style in 3D.
This artstyle is absolutely gorgeous, I just wish they added a few more frames to the movement, because something about the way it's done bugs me. Gives me PTSD from Berserk 2016's attempt at imitating 2D art with 3D models by having everything run at 3fps.

Miles doesn't want anything to do with it, which could be interesting. But eventually he becomes black Peter, and as the Ultimate Universe comes to an end, Peter Parker comes back to life and tells his Brother from a black Mother that Miles is a better Spiderman. And Ultimate Peter is the best Peter Parker there's ever been. He's such a fucking top bloke it's unbelievable. Then you mash universes together so you have 616 Peter Parker (who's 30 something and runs a business while spinning webs), but you need your token Black Spiderman to do teenage Spider-stuff. But you don't know how to do anything interesting, so you just make Miles a smart Science guy who struggles to make ends meet ontop of his obligation to be a Superhero and oh-wait-that's-Peter-Parker. His Powers are also complete bullshit, spin him as a different type of Spider with his camouflage and maybe he'd have some distinction as a hero (not as a Person). But then you have a Fight-Win button like Venom Blast, and you end up with a Hero who is a pale-imitation of the Original but is getting pushed harder, and has the flawed public impersonation that Miles is better than Peter.
I just realised this is the perfect way to have Agent Venom in a film since Hardy will be Brock and MCU Flash waaaaay too young and we don't even know if he'll join the military/stop being an ass hat. For once in my life I have to ask Sony to please, please not fuck up
I don't even watch superhero movies or go to movie theaters that much, but I'm all in on this just because of the art style. Holy crap.

Mr Freeze was just a cheap Captain Cold wannabe for so long then Timm, Dini and Mignola made him into something interesting and heart-felt. I'm hoping that between this and Insomniacs Spider-Man game we get something that catches on
