It's quite surreal to see how exactly a bullet impacts, and watching it vaporize like it was powder, or tin foil.

I'm pretty sure they are. These are pieces of metal that are being pushed with an enormous amount of force. As soon as they hit that metal it should release a fuck ton of energy causing the bullet to briefly melt.

Or it might be just the force involved the jellifies it.
