Didn't see another thread for this and considering I have such a boner for this series I figured SOMEONE should post about it. I am so fucking hyped. Anyone curious about any other franchise remakes/remasters that could happen down the line? I'd be down for a Spyro or Medievil remake.
Can't wait! Brings back the old PS2 memories, back in the day when my brother and I played this whenever we went on holiday. Aw, the memories. Can't wait!
They're still just showing footage from the first game. Are the other two going to be included as well?
Aw man, I remember Crash Bandicoot. I loved him when I was a kid playing Skylanders Imaginators.
Crash was one of the earliest franchises I got into as a kid. My dad and I were huge Mario nuts and as a platformer lover it only made sense I'd gravitate towards Crash once I got my PS1. The original trilogy still stands out as some of my favorite games of all time. I'll still find reasons to come back and play them again to 100% completion. I was originally pissed that I couldn't play them on my PS4 but I guess this trilogy remaster remedies that problem. Makes me wonder how mind blowing the different environments in Warped will look on the PS4, since all they've really shown off are elements from Crash 1. They've also gone back and added the time trials from Warped to Crash 1 and 2.
They're still just showing footage from the first game. Are the other two going to be included as well?
Yeah, the videos description mentions the June 30th release and all 3 games.
I was also wondering why there wasn't any footage anywhere of the other 2 games.
I was also wondering why there wasn't any footage anywhere of the other 2 games.
Guess they're trying to keep that a surprise? All 3 "games" sound like they're going to be very mechanically similar, the only difference being each level's gimmicks and themes.
Anyone else put off by the way Crash looks? I feel like it's a Conker Live & Reloaded deal, where updating the graphics and adding fancy fur effects subtracts from what it is. I would prefer just regular Crash Bandicoot on an emulator with widescreen and anti-aliasing turned on.

I think the only problem is that the environments have lost their grit.
The 'unfinished'-looking lighting seems to be the final look they're going for, damn.

Yes I know that however they've only ever show gameplay of the first game. Makes you wonder if it's even going to include the other two at release

They shouldn't've handed the development over to Fisher-Price...
The 'unfinished'-looking lighting seems to be the final look they're going for, damn.
Yeah, a little more contrast in the scene from the trailer wouldn't hurt it, in my opinion:
The real question is how is this going to sound remastered.
Anyone curious about any other franchise remakes/remasters that could happen down the line? I'd be down for a Spyro or Medievil remake.
off the top of my head no Spyro but I think 2017's pretty good in terms of 90s-ass game remakes and spiritual sequels
off the top of my head *games*
Almost none of these really can be considered remakes or remasters (the exception being Final Fantasy).
The fur looks terrible.
Damn, still 28 months left.
I think the only problem is that the environments have lost their grit.
this is what I mean by that Have the natives been coming by every week to scrub their hundreds of years old ruins?
I'm still hoping that the purpose of this game is to be a 'pilot' of sorts- that is, if it does well (and I imagine it will), we'll get a whole new Crash game. I'd love to see him come back properly.
are these games worth playing without the nostalgic sentiment
are these games worth playing without the nostalgic sentiment
It's a decent platformer Spyro is way better imo, SM64 kinda spoiled me on platformers tho around that gen
are these games worth playing without the nostalgic sentiment
Yes.
are these games worth playing without the nostalgic sentiment
If they're anything like the originals, hell yes.
i'm so fucking hyped to see how Warped will look.
are these games worth playing without the nostalgic sentiment
I'd say so, yes. Also, childhood fan of Crash here, so me missing out on this would be a crime. Glad it's not that far away. But it's still an unbearably long wait. I NEEEEED this.
no Spyro but I think 2017's pretty good in terms of 90s-ass game remakes and spiritual sequels
90s kids have grown up, got jobs and have disposable income and nostalgia started kicking in. Time to get money from them.
