Color me optimistic. I'm hoping this is just a fun shooter - really want a fun story driven game again, DOOM was great and I hope this is too. Never really played Prey or kept up with Prey 2, but I have played Dishonored and loved that.
Where's the Cherokee ghosts
Calling it now, the plot twist is "You are the source of all this shit".
Reminds me of bioshock. Hopefully they can get the atmosphere and story to be as good as it.
I was excited after the teaser, but this trailer did nothing for me. Also, is it just me or the graphics don't look that great ?
Getting big System/Bioshock and Doom 3 vibes off this
Calling it now, the plot twist is "You are the source of all this shit".
They kinda already showed that in the reveal trailer so I'm guessing it's gonna be a bit more than just that.

I'm hoping this will be a proper System Shock style game. Nothing else has scratched the itch.
Can't wait to play Dead Space : Metro Doom Soma 2033. On the serious note, even if the story turns out to be mediocre --I'd play it.
for some reason the shotgun with the ammo count printed on the entire side of it looks pretty sick
This is what it replaced when Bethesda acquired and gutted Human Head studios why even call it prey anymore
Calling it now, the plot twist is "You are the source of all this shit".
god i fucking hate that cliche even when they first starting pulling iot
This is what it replaced when Bethesda acquired and gutted Human Head studios why even call it prey anymore
God damn stop crying over Prey 2 already
Honestly looks pretty good so far. Looking forward to seeing more of what could be in the game.
I think it'll be a good game, Arkane is a studio that I trust.
Hey, remember the poison headcrabs from Half Life 2? What if there was a game where you fought those like all the time?
The enemies don't really look scary since they look like smoke monsters but it seems tense because it seems like they could be anywhere and get anyone
Did one of these headcrabs just transform into a chair ?
Looks kind of boring.

Nothing else has scratched the itch.
That's exactly what Bethesda pitched to Arkane when they asked them to work on it. Also Chris Avellone writing so that should ease story concerns a bit.
Did one of these headcrabs just transform into a chair ?
Almost as if the devs are putting creepy mind-fuck reality warping elements in. Just like the original Prey!
The monsters look like total wank. Black enemy goo is such a lazy sci-fi cop-out i swear. Can't see myself getting scared by a lack of imagination, weird since the environments look really good.
Pretty sure weird aliens turning into inanimate objects and doing god knows what else will keep you on your toes enough to not care that they're black goo.
Not really man. They're boring for me personally. It's kinda in the same boat as those scary girl with black hair gimmicks. Too on the nose for me. Whatever floats your boat though.
Getting big System/Bioshock and Doom 3 vibes off this
Yeah it's giving me a ton of those vibes, as well as a touch of The Thing in terms of "it could be anything and anyone". And if it truly can disguise itself as objects in the environment, then that's gonna keep the tension high, like a cosmic horror equivalent of Prop Hunt where the props can kill you. Also, being that the monsters appear to be swarms of nanomachines, I think I realise why they used the name Prey for this game. Because there is a Michael Crichton novel, also themed around nanomachines, also called Prey. I'm not saying that there's an explicit connection here, between the game and the identically-named novel, but it seems awfully convenient that the names and themes of this game and this novel appear to line up in such a way...
Looks like a boring attempt to make their own Dead Space/System Shock. Also I can already see the Doom 3 level of scary - something suddenly farts in the dark corner.

I have actually read the novel and I can see where you're going with it. [sp]In the novel, the nanobots initially are just this vague killer cloud that escaped containment from a research facility (there's some stuff with a predator/prey simulation, the swarm being the predator) as the novel progresses, the swarm becomes more intelligent and forms a nest, and eventually begins taking human forms, the first such encounter it takes the vague form of someone it killed. Eventually, it perfectly mimics people. The aliens in Prey (game) can be seen turning into perfect inanimate objects, and taking vague humanoid form.[/sp]
I swear, if it turns out that Michael Crichton was on the writing team for this game... It would make an awful lot of sense, considering the apparent similarities. Though it could just as easily be a mad fucking coincidence.
