ping! [editline]5th September 2014[/editline] haha oh wow there's a section on the ping, great video
M1 Garand is without a doubt my all time favorite weapon.
This guy is really interesting and informative.
A much better video than his lists of mundane stuff.
Ahoy is really great. Been following him since his early day of doing Black Ops weapon guides. He has steadily improved since then.
If I remember correctly, Rising Storm had an unlock for a "fake ping". Which was apparently a real thing.
Fake ping as in "pinging" an empty clip on your helmet to get your enemies out of cover?
If I remember correctly, Rising Storm had an unlock for a "fake ping". Which was apparently a real thing.
Ya it was a real tactic. The soldier would hit an empty clip against his helmet to make the ping sound and if the enemy was stupid enough they would pop their heads out and get shot.
Didnt some airbourne units use the ping to rally up on the opening hours of D-DAY? iirc some airbourne units had something that would click or ping, and that would notify who ever in the area that there is a airbourne unit nearby; thus preventing friendly fire incidents

Not sure if anyone used Garand clips as a substitute for them.
This comes to mind
Wow.
This comes to mind
can someone help me understand whats going on here
can someone help me understand whats going on here
its a video, some child was being taught how to fire a M1 Garand, the instructor asks him to put the clip into the rifle but he puts it in horribly wrong.
Man I love the M1 Garand, I have actually been lucky enough to shoot one. It was so satisfying hearing that *ping* in real life. It was always my favorite weapon in Bad Company 2, I used to get called a hacker daily because it was all I used and I was good at getting head shots at a distance with iron sights.
can someone help me understand whats going on here
A kid who has no idea how to use a Garand is loading a clip in sideways while his dad is laughing at him and recording it. Either way, enjoyed the video. Nice to see someone pronounce Garand correctly, apparently his next one is going to be on the MP5 series.

Nutnfancy is a guy who reviews and tests all sorts of gear and weapons. I liked the video though, pretty informative and interesting.
I don't really like him. He seems a bit too smatassish
I own an M1 Garand. I fucking love it. They are great weapons. However, en bloc clips are a bit of a pain to load.
I own one of these, and I'm currently throwing the clips around my room in excitement.
I own one of these, and I'm currently throwing the clips around my room in excitement.
You ever just load an empty clip, then eject it really hard just to hear the magical ping?
You ever just load an empty clip, then eject it really hard just to hear the magical ping?
Nah, but you could literally poke the fucking things and they ping. They're obnoxious but iconic. Problem is 30 ought 06 costs so much fucking money and I'm a poor fuck so I never shoot it. maybe i'll get some pics if there's enough want for them.

For all my stuff. Of all the classic rifles I own - the Mosin-Nagant, a Kar98, an Enfield Mk3, and the Garand - it's my favorite. Just because of that ping.
I sometimes wish a company would make an M1 Garand in .22lr or .17hmr. It would have the ping still, just I want a gun that has plinkable ammo.

My bolt slides like butter.
The enemies during WW2 would try to train their men into attacking when they could hear the 'ping' of the M1 Garands. However, battle-hardened Americans quickly replied with their own method by keeping an empty en-bloc to throw at something solid to imitate that they were out of ammo. Another advantage they had was that early during WW2 when the knowledge of the M1 was very limited outside the US, enemies would attack after hearing five shots since bolt-actions had 5 rounds. US soldiers would shoot five rounds and wait for a few moments for an enemy to get up only to be drilled by the three remaining rounds.
garands are loud as fuark if you're at an indoor range, literally makes you jump

I like to content of this mans videos, but I fucking hate it that he uses the same fucking animation for literally everything.
