weird song choice, but whatever.
[sp]again, keep the discussion about warchests elsewhere[/sp]
Odd editing. The others have epic haunting scores to represent a tribe, and this gets a "show off my bling" generic rap song?
I'm soooo gonna wipe out the Marauder Tribes in my game if there is a way.
please be a bit harder than mordor because it definitely got too easy after a while, and waaay more missions than just the 20 mordor had
Why do you post this with every video, just because you are excited for a game doesn't mean it's exempt from criticism
because it derails the thread heavily.
because it derails the thread heavily.
You just bring more attention to it every time you put it there.
what a shit video, and that music choice really does a piss poor job of encompassing the feel of the game lmao
who was in charge of this and wtf were they even thinking.
I kinda like it. It's obvious that this is the joke Tribe of the game. You aren't supposed to take them seriously.

the disconnect between marketing and design teams I guess

Focus groups must like it
I think call of duty or madden can pull it off a lot better than a fucking lotr game though
Imagine if the Smaug intro scene had this playing with mtv cribs style jump cuts to his treasure pile
I dont care about dumb music or fancy ork skins, Im not supporting this company.
Tolkein is rolling in his grave at 100 mph.
may god have mercy on our souls xD ecksdee

why?
Microtransactions in a SP game is stupid yes but I could hardly give a shit since I'll just ignore them entirely and play the game as normal
warchests fucking suck
[editline]31st August 2017[/editline]
oh shit im sorry
music choice was fucking shit, whole thing was awkward as fuck

I loved the original but everything surrounding this sequel so far has been horrible, so I will probably not buy this one
This games an odd one. Like, half their marketing has been pretty great displaying the gameplay and features, and the other half shows them getting some (apparently) popular dude to voice an orc that sounds totally out of place. And then there's this shit.
Seriously feels like two seperate teams or something.
All the Uruk personalities they've showcased are really starting to get me worried for this release, it feels like they're aiming for the lowest common denominator.
It's doing the exact opposite for me, i was actually pretty hyped from the start.
I'm getting less and less excited for this game every time I hear about it.
Between the fucking virtual gambling loot-boxes in a single player game, to the weird marketing that seems to showcase all these great aspects of the game one minute, before switching to pandering to the lowest common denominator with completely out of place trash the next.
The whole thing smells pretty damn fishy.
I was almost cheering when I heard they were making a sequel, but by now I'm definitely waiting for a sale if I buy it.
This lootbox fad just needs to fucking die already
its obvious that shadow of war is appealing to the dudebro demographic even moreso than mainstream big titles like call of duty and assassins creed
why?
WB games is legit one of the worst publishers in the industry right now, they love slicing up games and shoehorning awful ports to try and scrub the market clean as hard as possible. Any game published under their name in recent times is guaranteed to have its DLC cost more than the base game.
And after basically creating the ever so dreaded Season Pass, they moved onto monkeying other successful but dubious business models the latest of which are lootboxes, which contain gameplay-crucial elements leading plenty of people to be wary that the game itself may be stunted in terms of progress and balance in order to push the player to buy crates.
Such recent dubious if not outright shitty moves include (in somewhat chronological order)
- Forcing certain content to be console-exclusive, even with no logical justification behind the decision.
- General disrespect of their owned IPs, taking them away from the hands of their creators to outsource them to a different team often with mediocre to catastrophic results.
- Essentially creating the concept of a season pass and then applying it to every major release they've had past this point.
- Pushing for the Online Pass, a method to essentially racket money out of second-hand copies by locking story-critical content out unless a code, bundled with new copies or bought separately online, is entered.
- Outsourcing ports to blatantly understaffed teams with extremely little time to complete the task.
- General disrespect for their own customers, offering condescending comments instead of help or apologies.
- Using Denuvo.
- Delaying season pass content to certain platforms or outright cancelling DLC to those platforms over extended periods of time.
- Pushing for microtransactions in games that do not need them, sometimes as literal cheats. Including lootboxes with gameplay-centric content inside of them, both in singleplayer and competitive multiplayer games.
All in all, they have an urge to follow any and all trend as long as it can net them some extra cash, even if it comes at the expense of their own customers. If it doesn't work, they'll throw it away and pick up the next big thing whatever it may be.
Shadow of Mordor was great specifically because it was just about you and uruks and killing uruks and some of them were tough boys.
This game is full to the brim with pointless dumb shit it doesn't need.

And after basically creating the ever so dreaded Season Pass (...)
What? The first major season pass was from Rockstar back when they did the Rockstar Pass for L.A Noire. And that was just an expansion on the idea of EA's project ten dollar from the year before.
WB isn't great, but the majority of your list is exaggerated at best.
oh shit im sorry
Sorry for what? Our daddies taught us not to be ashamed of our criticism. 'Specially since there's such shit trailers 'n all.
The only word for this is atrocious.
- Using Denuvo.
Remind me again why Denuvo is bad? Last i remember it was because of people claiming SSDs being killed and performance reductions, was this ever proven?
Remind me again why Denuvo is bad? Last i remember it was because of people claiming SSDs being killed and performance reductions, was this ever proven?
i think it was disproven but at the end of the day, its just another pointless DRM thats cracked within weeks and just ends up being an annoyance for actual customers.
i think there was also talks of it having to "phone home" sometimes, and that if their servers or something ever goes down your game becomes unplayable. dunno if that was ever true though
hardly a pointless drm if it takes a few weeks to crack, the first month sales of a game are critical to it's success
publishers wouldn't force it on everything if it didn't work
when i say a few weeks thats only like a few games. most denuvo games are cracked within 1-2 weeks. agents of mayhem just came out on the 15th and it got cracked ~1 week ago
[editline]1st September 2017[/editline]
i think it mostly has to do with the different versions of denuvo. one game comes out with a new version, takes weeks to crack that new version, and every game after that comes out using that version is easier to crack?
i still don't think the microtransactions are quite as bad as people make them out to be, you can acquire both of the currencies ingame and get the chests through the community/multiplayer stuff without paying a single red cent (and none of them contain anything unavailable through normal gameplay)
as for the trailer i think it's cheeky, but the other ones were fine, as long as the game itself is mostly tonally consistent i don't care if they act goofy once in a while

How exactly is it an annoyance if I may ask?
