I know it's Tim, but I can't help but feel cautiously optimistic. The stuff we've seen so far looks solid.
I'll blame myself for getting hyped if it sucks, but I'm willing to take that chance.
Side note, but I highly recommend checking out Psychonauts 1 commentary with Scott Campbell (Art Director) & Tim Schafer. It's great.

Compared to something like Shenmue 3, they've shown a lot of footage of them in the process of building the game.
No way to know for sure if it will be fun, but at least they're taking it seriously.

Still not giving Schafer a single cent until the final product shows up on Steam with a general consensus that its good.
they better match the creativity of the levels in the first game because fuck me there was some really cool ideas.
I didn't even know this was being made, so at the same time I got excited I remember what kind of person Tims like as a developer so I got hit with both Optimism and Pessimism. God I hope it's able to live up to the first one

Yeah. Opinions of Schafer aside, if the game is good and it's actually out, I'm buying it. Not before, though.
And I really want it to be good. I really don't like Schafer, but I have to admit that Psychonauts was awesome. I'm rooting for him, like it or not.
Yeah I'm having severe doubts about this game considering the kind of rancid rabbit hole its crowdfunding was.

i'm hopeful for this game. if anything is going to bring them back from their shit reputation it's going to be this game.
plus the first psychonauts is one of the best platformers i've played.

The VR game they put out made me a lot more confident they will.
I was surprised how much it felt like psychonauts after all this time.

Basically tim schafer owns Fig and is laundering money through it.
Mr. Shitface definitely makes me wary of this game, but at the same time, I would think he's going to at least try to make it a great game.
Psychonauts is one of the few reasons why he still gets some recognition and a free pass on some things. Fucking up the sequel would destroy any credit he still has , and his remaining fans would never let him hear the end of it. As such, I would assume he's at least trying to make a great game, instead of farting out something akin to Broken Age.
I can't wait to pre-order on Fig.
