It's finally over. Me and my brother watched this last night and oh boy what a ride that was in terms of expectations.
From 0 - Whattheactualfuck in 2.8 seconds flat.
God damn, is he roleplaying or something, like he sounds super into it and fake as fuck.

"Oh my god..."
wow there's an actual ending now?
wow there's an actual ending now?
Yep.
Also yeah I know the guy playing's shit but I only found out about it at all because a friend of mine shared the link to this video. I'd find a better one but I don't have time to at the moment.
It's cool to see a survival game for once that has an actual objective you work towards and can actually finish and isn't just "lol i dunno survive".

Really? I didn't think that at all. I actually liked this guy, kept me entertained at least and he had the same reactions I was having.
He was playing this game for 2 years so of course he's going to sound really into it.
Do you want him to sit in silence or something?
That was actually pretty damn tense to watch

Yeah I thought the guy playing was pretty subdued and realistic with his reactions. Real huge contrast too from the usual LP'er who tries to force in jokes and yells at the camera all through the entirety of the game, or those who are just deadpan and sarcastic throughout it all.
On topic with he game, it's pretty nice to see how much this has progressed ever since it released as Early Access. The development may had been pretty slow but it seems to be a steady progress, and the plot and objective wrapped around it is pretty interesting.
Why was the game sound muted in the part after the "One Year Later" screen? There's dialogue and music and stuff there.
This makes me respect the dev of this game a lot. There are fucking oceans of survival games that consist of a few hours of gameplay and then nothing. They're just stuck in limbo forever as updates come out once a year and they always promise "more on the way!" and it never ends.
Actually wrapping up to an endpoint, and an interesting one at that, instead of trying to milk people forever and say your game is "in development" forever makes him earn my respect. I just wish this was more common. Survival/Survival Horror games would be so much more fun if there was a goal to work toward.

Minecraft tore the floodgates open on the whole open-ended never ending concept and it's getting exhausting.
Can someone post a different play through, without commentary?
This guys voice is insanely annoying. I'm sure he's impressed for the game, but fuckin' hell. Do you have to say OH MY GOD! Fucking 5 million times in the span of 35 fucking minutes.
Fuck.

I think all those years of being in Limp Bizkit fucked up his vocal cords.
That was tense but fuuuuuuuck that guy. His spr srs commenting ruined it for me

Found a better playthrough that didn't make me feel like punching a rock.
My heart is thunderin'
good video tho
oh, this game actually has a story?
is there a recap or a series i can watch that isn't 130 videos long so I don't have to see the ending without knowing any background
wow there's an actual ending now?
They've been building up to it for a lot of the past few updates, expanding areas and dropping hints in places that didn't have them originally.
Serious respect to the dev
reminds me of lost but with an actual payoff
man, that's kind of fucked up. It's even more fucked up to think that you may be doing the same thing in the beginning of the game to some other poor bloke. Cyclical history and all that.
that thing around the 17 minute mark
what the fuck
i mean what the hell seriously
John Carpenter would be so proud

I kept wondering about that. Like, the machine needed a "live specimen", so the protagonist actually went to the plane he crashed and took a living human being and sacrificed them to revive his son. That is some serious shit right there, and it still backfired horribly
[editline]16th December 2016[/editline]
Jesus, and the red dude in the very beginning of the game was actually the little girl's father
Why couldn't he just take a live "cannibal" or whatever they are called instead of crashing a plane? :'(
Why couldn't he just take a live "cannibal" or whatever they are called instead of crashing a plane? :'(
I imagine crashing the plane triggered some investigation into the island which wound up saving him. But also, there's no guarantee that a cannibal would've worked in the machine. If it had, why would the girl's father have stolen your child? And even if it did, the machine's side effects still would've taken place regardless. I imagine using an unconscious human was probably easier than using a living rabid psychotic experiment.

Ah, see this makes alot of sense.
Not gonna lie, the devs of The Forest have impressed me with this, I didn't realise they added so much, the last thing I remember getting to was the bottom of the sink hole
damn that shit is fucked up
i like it a lot
Honestly the 8:00 mark kept making me think of the flesh.

This game is spooky as fuck.
True fear is going into a dark cave and seeing an eight armed monstrosity charge you as you light a torch
"Oh man. Oh god. Oh my god!"
*Sounds of intense Steam Screenshots while LPer stares with a neutral expression*

And all those cuts. It's like he is making fun of himself.
