After the colossal fuck up that was Mass Effect 3, I have absolutely no hopes for this game.
I also love how that hack Casey Hudsen decides to spend 40 seconds of the video talking about their new game.
Mass Effect 3 was a good game except for the ending :l
The ending fucked up the entire buildup and the storyline.

I could write paragraphs on how shit ME3 was. The combat, story, new characters, ending, general focus, previous game retconns, copy paste Gary Stu villains, were all awful.
Priority Tuchanka and the Citadel DLC are the only thing that ME3 created that were good.
The multiplayer was the funnest part of the game, and for a single player RPG, that is fuckin sad.
Is the audio mixing awful, or is that just on my end?
It seems like all the music is coming out of the left speaker and all the dialogue is coming out of the right.
Personally I wish they'd just go for another race, and not humans again.
Playing as a Turian would be great, I want to see Palaven
Mass Effect was complete dogshit from day one and I want all traces of it burned out of existence. Dead, buried, forgotten.
Not holding out much hope, to say the least.

To be honest, I think ME3's combat was some of the most solid in the series, it was the god-awful writing that killed it.
Also just that image of the random space soldier armour makes me so sad at how ME's design gravitated towards generic sci-fi/shooter as the series went on. I mean ME1 had armour that came in bizzare colours, and was all skintight and shit, it was crazy, but distinctive. But that dude they showed in the video could come from any sci-fi game.
Anyone that says ME3's combat is the worst in the series is fucking delusional.
i may have gotten a semi when the mass effect 1 music started
Have game devs completely forgot what a trilogy means? First now Halo and now Mass Effect. I don't want any more re-fried reheated leftovers.

Halo 3 ended with a cliffhanger, so it wasn't a trilogy even from Bungie's story.
Mass Effect ended at 3, and they're making new games set in a different story but same universe, so ME1-3 is a trilogy.
They put some emphasis on exploration & discovery, so I'm hopeful. It's what got me into the series in the first place.
If Bioware doesn't deliver with DAI, they're dead
What the hell is it with this E3 and calling devs talking over shots of them working on a game a trailer?
Its possible this could be open world judging from the Day/night cycles
You don't spend that time on a feature for an area your going to run through in 15 seconds.

I'm usually very neutral about video games but Mass Effect 3 was honestly the worst game I have ever played. There was not a single thing about it I enjoyed in any way, and I really wish I could forever undo the time I took to play it and any moment I ever spent in connection with it.
It looks good, but I'm going to keep cautious.
Really don't like the gritty space marine direction they have going with the armor and stuff, I wish we went back to ME1 roots.
This isn't just Mass Effect, at the end they say they're also working on a new IP.
oh fuck off
if you have to tell us how great your game is gonna be, you've effectively failed at showing us that
honestly i'd like a game that centers around either thane or jack. both of those characters owned, and have a depth of personality / potential (thane for an assassin type game, jack for an origin story of breaking the fuck outta that biotics testing zone, entirely focus the game on developing biotic abilities, etc)
it'll be sorta dumb if they just do mass effect for mass effect again.

Mass Effect 1's combat felt the most unique rather than a copy pasted GOW. If they had taken the general combat idea from ME1 and improved and expanded upon it if would have been much better.
Still the same Lead Writer. See you folks at Disappointment Avenue.
As long as that fucktard writer of ME3 isn't writing anything for this game I'll actually probably enjoy it
That and if it plays more like ME1 (which I loved more than the other 2 games) I'll love this too

Much as I'd like to revisit the characters from the original trilogy, I think I'd prefer they went to a different timeline with an entirely new cast. Even after all the missteps and outright fuckups, each character's arc ended well enough (especially after the Citadel DLC) that I feel like we gave them a proper send-off.
The Mass Effect universe is too vast and varied to hold onto the story elements of the previous entries, in my opinion, beyond the obvious effects of the ending of Mass Effect 3.

Well fuck
Mass Effect 1 takes the award for the worst combat, but, IMO, ME3's combat felt more like Gears of War than a Mass Effect Game.
Perhaps, but how do we really define "A Mass Effect game."
Every single one had TPS style combat, with ME1 being clunky as hell but full of options, ME2 being a shameless copy of Gears of War with significantly limited options, and ME3 being a more polished hybrid of the two systems.
Given all the changes they went through, I don't know if Mass Effect has an established feel :v:

ME's combat never had a unique feel to begin with.
1 was a shitty attempt at third person shooting, 2 was a completely shitty attempt at GOW, and 3 was a competent attempt at GOW.
