Lately a fox has been hanging around Stamper's place, which he's lovingly named Garbage, and he's been taking care of them. He's looking for places around Philadelphia that he can call about them, so i figured i'd post this here both because, you know, foxes are cool and because maybe some of you might be able to help.

Sadly it kinda looks like they both have something like blowfly strike, meaning those maggots at their back ends are going to eat them alive.
The Ivomec they've been using may help but they'll most likely get an underdose of it as they can't be sure how much of it they've consumed.
That fox is most likely suffering from scabies. When I took my hunting license I learnt that they should be put down as soon as possible. Otherwise they might infect other animals, including pets.

They are also pretty damn funny, or Stamper makes them funny with the way he is talking to them, I don't know :v:

Doesn't look like scabies to me, but it could be likely in many of them.
But still, dunno why he'd help a fox. They're a pest.
If they die at least they would have been in a better mood and well fed instead of starving, which I'd imagine would be pretty agonising. Good on him.

It's like you didn't even read the rest of the thread, which is a whole 6 other posts.
Foxes aren't like dogs. They're incredibly timid from literally a lifetime of evolution. Humans have notoriously treated them like shit, so for the fox to get that close to you means he's crazy hungry.
Basically what I'm trying to say is, just give the thing food instead of trying to form some sort of trust with it. It's sort of tormenting it, cause it's torn between running away and being so hungry it'll go against everything its instincts tell it.
That isn't to say foxes can't be domesticated, but it has to happen when they're very young. Once they've lived in the wild and grown up, it's next to impossible to tame them. Poor guy, good on you for looking out for him.
This Stamper guy seems fucking hilarious though, I love the accent he has.

Stamper is one of the Newgrounds Animators, along with OneyNG, psychicpebbles, Egoraptor, etc. He's one of the most hilarious people I know of, they all are.

There is a reasonable population of foxes where I live and the only problem I've ever had with them is them occasional making noise at night.
Heartwarming and funny. I hope these foxes recover but at the same time I realize they probably shouldn't.

Just know that female foxes with cubs pull out their hair to keep cubs warm so if you see a fucked up looking fox it might be fine.
