How long do you think it'll take before Nintendo notices this?
No big surprise if they take it down, they use sounds from melee and the silhouettes look identical.
How long do you think it'll take before Nintendo notices this?
ten nine
How long do you think it'll take before Nintendo notices this?
If someone shows this to Mr. Sakurai and the rest of Nintendo, they need to tell Sakurai "Please understand."
It looks nice but you can't customize the controls. And I would say Super Smash Flash 2 is the way to go if you want ssb on pc it even has online.
the fool used a dropbox link for the official download
I really don't understand why somebody doesn't just make a game that's pretty much like melee but w/o Nintendo characters, updated graphics so Nintendo won't sue them.
do you use a controller with this? the controls for keyboard are weird, can't even get into a game

I'd be nice if some sort of online or LAN multiplayer was added as well, but hey, Melee w/o having to fiddle with/setup Dolphin is fantastic.
I'd be nice if some sort of online or LAN multiplayer was added as well, but hey, Melee w/o having to fiddle with/setup Dolphin is fantastic.
Honestly, I would love if they would just work less on copying everything from Melee and just make it super open-source, like MUGEN or something [editline]24th November 2016[/editline] And add multiplayer support of course

The code is open source and I think its better than trying to make their own thing because the fighting mechanics and physics of Melee just feel so right compared with all the other fighters I've played.
anyone manage to get a copy from the download link?
this is too dope
I'm not gonna care about it until the entire melee roster is in
I'm not gonna care about it until the entire melee roster is in
How about the entire roster except Pichu?
How about the entire roster missing except Pichu?
fify
How about the entire roster except Pichu?
It could be worse, like removing Fox and Falco from it... or only allowing Fox so you can enforce the "Fox only" restriction.
I'm seriously impressed. This is the only smash bros "remake" I've played that actually feels like smash and not buggy dogshit.
Just found this recently and I think it's a pretty nice demonstration of how close Melee Light is to the original.
This is amazing. Hopefully the game will stay as fluid and quick as Melee without any slowdowns on browsers. That is if Nintendo allows it to stay up. Just played a little bit on my Xbox 360 controller, and the layout is a little wonky imo. It also seems to have a slight problem with receiving inputs after dodging and blocking. Fox also has a bug where his Side-B will glitch him into walls and kill him.
Are the characters just flat sprites, or actual 3D models?
Are the characters just flat sprites, or actual 3D models?
I'm gunna say flat, it is in a browser and running beautifully. also it would totally pointless to make them 3d models if visually they just look like this
I'm gunna say flat, it is in a browser and running beautifully. also it would totally pointless to make them 3d models if visually they just look like this
Well if you're going for full 1:1 melee then you'd need 3d models and hitboxes so that you'd get the proper amount of jank. Remember: all smash games actually have 3d hitreg.
I'm gunna say flat, it is in a browser and running beautifully. also it would totally pointless to make them 3d models if visually they just look like this
I'd actually guess 3D considering the stupid amount of sprites needed and the fact that the animations with melee look 1:1 otherwise you're suggesting they build a spritebook for every character for every frame of animation. not that smart when you can flatshade polygonal models.
The game is downloadable and runs on Java. It should use 3d models if it doesn't already.
then I doubt it would be able to continue being browser based while running this smoothly, and I'd rather have that than any amount of lag or frame rate drops
it's not expensive. the smash hitboxes are simple physics meshes and could easily run on a browser.
it's not expensive. the smash hitboxes are simple physics meshes and could easily run on a browser.
Visual representation: [t]http://nabile.s-ul.eu/tupAOMBE.png[/t] And yeah, characters aren't sprite-based, as evidenced by the fact that there's ~6 MB worth of animation data and that the render code looks like this.
