Let's see if it lives up to the hype.
YES!!! TOWNS!!! I really hope there's more then 2 this time around. I'm tired of Zelda games only have Castle Town and Kakariko and then nothing else but a couple people in a cave somewhere.
Nintendo Switch confirmed for horrendous lack of antialiasing detailed shadows look worse than blobby shadows when they're so jagged
Nintendo Switch confirmed for horrendous lack of antialiasing detailed shadows look worse than blobby shadows when they're so jagged
You do know it's also being made for Wii U? Chances are the footage is from the Wii U version. [editline]2nd December 2016[/editline] Heck even if it isn't, it's still being made with Wii U in mind, so chances are the differences won't be major. AKA: Wii U is probably holding it back.
You do know it's also being made for Wii U? Chances are the footage is from the Wii U version.
still applies, unless you think the battery-powered handheld is going to outperform the Wii U
still applies, unless you think the battery-powered handheld is going to outperform the Wii U
The Vita has hardware comparable to a PS3 and it was released in 2011. Obviously it's not quite there, but it's close enough for the sake of this comparison. You tell me what a handheld three times the size released in 2017 is going to be capable of.
still applies, unless you think the battery-powered handheld is going to outperform the Wii U
You might have forgotten that Cross Generation ports, don't really look too different between each console. They don't make one version look better, they keep them around the same, better performance and leave it at that. Assassin's Creed, Battlefield, COD, when they were being released on 360/PS3 and PS4/XBONE they looked identical except for better shadows, bit more effects and that's about it. Also the Vita is really powerful for such a small device. It has games that are nearly on par with the PS3. That's how good it is. So yeah I kinda expect the Battery-powered handheld to out perform the Wii U.
what are you talking about? Switch is the battery-powered handheld
I wasn't paying attention while typing that last bit, fixed.
This is why I'll buy the Switch. Amazing.
Updated OP with second VGA related video!
I'm guessing this is the Wii U version since the Switch conference isn't until mid-January and are probably waiting until then to show off games running on the system, apart from the short clips shown in the announcement trailer. I don't imagine there will be a huge difference, except maybe running at a hopefully higher resolution to get rid of some the aliasing. Either way, I'm still hyped as hell for this. Oh OP was just edited with a gameplay video showing them playing on a Wii U. That pretty much settles that question.
Nintendo Switch confirmed for horrendous lack of antialiasing
What. Obviously it supports antialiasing. Why would it not? The game is probably using a deferred renderer and will use something like FXAA.
So there are parrot people in this Hyrule? That's pretty cool, Kass appears to be a Norwegian Blue unless I'm mistaken.
still applies, unless you think the battery-powered handheld is going to outperform the Wii U
Yes it will.
Bitches you're forgetting that the Switch will have a dock to charge in and boost power when it's not being used as a handheld. It's likely the game will look fantastic when played in this mode.
Boost power? The dock has no extra processing power.
TIL. I'm confident the system is going to be pretty powerful anyway.
Boost power? The dock has no extra processing power.
The system is underclocked to conserve battery life while in handheld form. While docked it has a steady power source and possible additional cooling, meaning it can run at full power.
That music, I NEED IT
Wow this looks so freaking fun. I love the addition of so many little gameplay elements like the ragdoll physics and being able to climb anything. Plus the armor choices and my god, I need a WiiU or Switch. Dare I say, I'm getting really good vibes of dark souls gameplay mixed into zelda gameplay?
Is the Switch gonna be much more powerful than the Wii U? I might just sell my Wii U now to ensure it gets snapped up over the Christmas period, and then buy the Switch when it comes out.
im disappointed that they're keeping link right handed now even though it's not motion controlled also the framerate seemed pretty poor. gameplay looks neat though.
that roll after link got hit good
Man, just the fact that Link loses 8 FUCKING HEARTS after being stabbed once by a Lizalfos makes me think that this game is going to be a treat to get through. Just imagine how much damage a proper boss will do. Imagine actually having a hard final boss for once.:ohno: And of course, because of that, we already have the inevitable comparisons to Dark Souls...
Is the Switch gonna be much more powerful than the Wii U? I might just sell my Wii U now to ensure it gets snapped up over the Christmas period, and then buy the Switch when it comes out.
Yes. I mean, given the fact that even some of the older gen NVIDIA Tegra SoCs pack more of a punch than the Wii U is telling enough, and with this one being based on the current Pascal architecture, I would think that would put the Switch at least within punching distance of something like the Xbone. And unless you're sure that you won't miss your Wii U games, I'd say just keep it. I thought I wouldn't miss my Gamecube and the shit tons of games I had for it, but after revisiting some Gamecube games recently, I wish I still had my actual system and its games around. At the very least, keep it around until we hear something about a new Smash game for the Switch or something.
Nintendo Switch confirmed for horrendous lack of antialiasing detailed shadows look worse than blobby shadows when they're so jagged
what is nvidia? the switch is using nvidia's pascal system that is basically the wii U's power in a chip.
am I the only one that doesn't actually care about anti aliasing? I've gotten so used to playing games without it that with it on it looks so unnatural now :v:
