Still to this day one of the most satisfying season finales ever and perhaps one of the most awesome reveals ever, showing us the [sp]tipping point for Earth as a galactic force in the galaxy with the first reverse engineered human built starship now in play AND the awesomeness of the precursor Ancient weapon platform completely destroying Anubis fleet[/sp]
That Air Force general who was on the Red phone around 1:20+ in, was the actual USAF Chief of Staff at the time of filiming.

IIRC that wasn't the only time an actual member of the USAF showed up on the show.

Yeah Jack fanboyed over General Michael E. Ryan, the former USAF chief of staff (though he was Chief of Staff at that time) in one episode as well.
SG-1 was treated well by the USAF. They were able to get planes for background shots for some episodes/movies, they had a USAF advisor on set to make sure some things were as accurate as possible.
And the US Navy for the second movie even gave them the chance to film on an active submarine.
Love this show. I started rewatching it a few months ago. I'm in the middle of SG1 Season 8 and SGA Season 1.
I don't like the battle. It's the beginning of the end with SG-1 being super powerful and making the show boring.
I preferred it when Earth were the underdogs and couldn't fly about in spaceships willy-nilly.

They were.
At the Air Force Association's 57th Annual Air Force Anniversary Dinner in Washington, D.C., on September 14, 2004, then-Air Force Chief-of-Staff General John P. Jumper presented Anderson (Colonel Jack O'neill) with an award because of his role as star and executive producer of Stargate SG-1, a series which portrayed the Air Force in a positive light from its premiere. Anderson was also made an honorary Air Force brigadier general.
Iirc, he's one of very few civilians to ever receive such an award.
SG1 was best stargate
better than the shitshow that was SGU and SGA

I agree that SG-1 was the better one but I very much enjoyed the two others for what they were. I liked how Atlantis ran parallel to SG-1's later seasons, with cameo appearances in both shows.
SGU was actually mad decent if not a bit off from what you'd expect from Stargate.
and then Tealc starts duel wielding P90s

Not bad, but I prefer this:

Also, Atlantis was fine, could have done with an another season or movie to conclude it properly. Universe was basically Voyager and Battlestar put together, with a stargate....basically used as a ring teleporter.
I miss Stargate.

A bag your pardon?

Well the original plan was for this to be the end of SG-1. The series was going to be ended after this. There wasn't supposed to be a season 8, it was just supposed to be two movies to wrap everything up. But then they were instead renewed for two more seasons.

I don't think they knew they were renewed for 2 more seasons, because the Audio Commentary for the end of Season 8, Mobius Part 2, they said they wrote that episode to be a possible end of the series.
Then the reverse happened with Season 10, I remember them saying they thought they'd be renewed again, the cancellation was a surprise.
