He invites vault hunters so he can kill them The New-U device is a 4th wall device, its also hinted that Angel controls these. Also, Jack wants to kill you himself, and he makes money from you dying. The guy also said that Jack is contradictory, and that's completely wrong. He is a vile, murderous bastard, but he still loves his daughter. Not enough to let her free, but he still loves her in a weird way. I respect some of the things the guy is saying, but he doesn't always seem to know what hes talking about. "If you enjoyed this game you endorse bad business practices" Edit: I'm a little wrong with the "jack loves angel kinda" Here is what the Gearbox Forum mod Kaleidodemon has to say about it: Handsome Jack does not love his daughter. He loves the power she wields. She's just a useful tool to him, and as soon as she is no longer useful he would most likely dispose of her. He's a psychopath and a narcissist and is only ever concerned about himself. Anything he suggests to say otherwise is a lie.
This guy is trying so fucking hard to be the voice of /v/. It's pathetic. And New-U stations aren't canon.
TL;DR "stop enjoying this game guys"
"Borderlands 2 is supposed to be a first-person shooter action RPG. But it's not really an rpg since you never really get to make choices that impact the story." Is this guy serious? ARPG's almost never let you impact the story. Diablo series, Torchlight series, Titan Quest series, Dungeon Siege 1/2, etc. And did he really just suggest the ECHO system was a rip off of Bioshock? Also how Jack is supposed to be Andrew Ryan doesn't make sense. The Code Hunters bit was interesting though

only interesting bit was the Codehunters part, everything else could of been put to a soundtrack of a three year old having a temper tantrum and it would make no difference.
It's annoying how his voice sounds kind of tearful. Also, how he's trying to make the viewer believe he's "objective." He has a few points, but honestly it rather seems that he's - for whatever reason - annoyed that people like this game, and tries to denigrate it with whatever little flaw he can find, making a huge deal out of it.

I didn't like Borderlands 2 which was odd cause I loved Borderlands 1 and other similar games like Diablo 3 and Torchlight. Through out the campaign I got tired of having to resort to tactics which I shouldn't have been forced to use such as hiding away in a corner where the AI would have trouble getting me and shooting them from a distance because I felt like if I had taken them on properly I wouldn't have made it through. Not even Diablo 3 made me feel like that, I always felt like I could advance even if I was dying a shit ton. I shouldn't have had to be grinding when I was doing every side quest as well as the main and I shouldn't have had to play with other people in order to have fun or advance effectively (I would've played co-op after my first run through solo as I did in #1). As a result I dropped the game at like level 25 and sold it to a friend. I can understand why it would be fun to some people though especially the co-op but I felt like it wasn't for me in the end and it simply wasn't fun. But then I like that other people had fun playing the game because in the end thats what gaming should be about regardless of what the content of the game is. If you had fun then it's a successful game and that's why SSX is my goty so far because I had more actual fun playing it than any other this year. That's something this guy doesn't seem to understand.
Man, all this video does is make me wanna play borderlands 2 some more.
I think the biggest problem with this guys video is not the bias or trying to sound like /v/. Actually, its a specific kind of bias. Its the idea that he wants to force games to grow up, by treating them like stupid objects instead of actually getting involved. He feels that he's old enough that he wants more mature games, however he doesn't find any that HE feels fit that bill so he's going to complain till someone caters to him. That's not how creating mass media works and maybe he should take a few Media Literacy classes. Also, he sucks at art. The fact he had to resort to, 'ITS BEEN DONE BEFORE, THEY STOLE THIS' is hilarious because that art style has been done before the Codehunters(Cough Sly Cooper Cough).
Saying something is fun isn't an objective point. You need to back it up.
Wow.
Um, he said that the weapons take forever and the enemies are "bullet sponges", more than half of the enemies he showed in the clip were a higher level than he was... so it will take a lot longer to kill them
He just said the echo device thing where the characters call you Is a ripoff Of bioshock and portal I didn't know that one could come up with "distant voice that your character hears to further progress the game." As for Jack, I found his descent from sorta screw loose at the beginning to completely fucking insane by the end of the game highly interesting. And since when was cell shading another thing games could invent? It is seriously saying other shooters are ripoffs of doom because they have guns. It's such a simple thing. "If you enjoyed this game, you not only had fun at someone elses expense, but you unwittingly endorse gearbox's dishonest business practices." Guilt tripping at it's very finest, as well as "stop liking what I don't like"
This video boiled down to: "I can't find anything wrong with this part of the game so I'm skipping over it and giving credit for it not being bad to one person and then saying that there's a flaw here without explaining it or providing examples" "Someone did this mechanic beforehand and was successful, therefor this game is not allowed to do it." "I don't understand that characters are supposed to be fallible and therefore any hole in logic is a plot hole AND I don't understand the storyline main plotpoints so they fucked up." "I understand the mechanics of a game and because I deem them manipulative they are then not considered fun." "You're an idiot because you derive pleasure from this game." This was as biased a review as you could get from a monotone voiced teenager. Fuck him.
I don't think there's much objectively wrong with the Borderlands games. It just seems to have that MMO-like grind and gamble for loot mechanic that some people love and others hate. Just boils down to taste.
Really don't like this channel. First thing I saw by him was that thing about how he feels butthurt that people say they're nerds when they never suffered for the title or whatever, but this is just plain ridiculous. The art style thing at the end was a bit interesting, but the rest of the video uses arguments a 12 year old could take apart.
This video would have been okay if it was just talking about the codehunters, and maybe how gearbox talked about how it was better written but they would just pile the game up with memes. then he would probably get less hate mail from this video V:v:V
he, for some reason, thinks he's playing a "fable" when the game is clearly a "diablo"
he, for some reason, thinks he's playing a "fable" when the game is clearly a "diablo"
I don't think he knows what game he's playing at all.
Agreed with a very few things he said, but the last statement wasn't good at all.
He is right when he says the story-telling is bad because you can't hear anything the voice overs is saying over the gunfire or vehicle engine. Same problem in the first Borderlands however.
Why can't some people realize that borderlands story is meant to be mostly comedic with elements of seriousness. Its really odd to expect such a laid back game to be so serious. The first borderlands had a redneck mechanic, a paranoid antisocial scientist, two almost identical brothers (one of which was evil), a slutty milf running a murder arena, a suicidal general, and a robot revolutionary. I would say its pretty damn obvious this series doesn't stress seriousness.
loudhouse did a better review of this game (somehow) [editline]12th November 2012[/editline]
Why can't some people realize that borderlands story is meant to be mostly comedic with elements of seriousness. Oh god it's this idiot who did that stupid video on "nerd culture"
