I gotta rewatch this movie now.
I love this guy. Some top-tier stuff he makes.
I like this one because he's not just reading a wikipedia article
Bump the lamp is a term I've never heard of until now, and I really like it as a metaphor. Going to start using it now.
I've always loved this movie though I never really noticed all the little nuances.
Love this guy's videos - we studied the story about Roger Rabbit from the The Animator's Survival Kit by Richard Williams. Even if you're not interested in animation, I'd strongly recommend reading it to understand how animators breathe life into polygons.
Stuff like this has "ruined" animation for me. Not because I don't enjoy it anymore, but now while watching the movie, I sit there thinking "how did they do that". I'm impressed by digital, but I'm amazed by old fashioned animation. I love watching for small details as well.
I had always kinda meant to look up a behind-the-scenes on this movie. It's more impressive than I even imagined.
I could always tell that they did something magical with the effects in this movie because, like he says in the video, I never even noticed the tricks or thought about them. All the work they put into the illusion works so well that, in the heat of the movie, I don't even find myself thinking "how did they do that". My mind has already accepted the illusion and I'm too busy with the story now.

pretty good if you wanna learn more of the movie
the guy who basically directed all the animation went on to make what alot of animators consider the bible of animation

this might've been his best video yet. what an excellent breakdown on the animation process
I love how that guy says they're lazy, like yeah, what the are your excuses now eh.
The lamp lighting is incredible. It's crazy that the movie has a ton of little details that you'll never notice unless you look for them because they're supposed to sell the illusion.
