It was a video of a white guy, and there was a 3D rendering of a middle eastern guy. The white guy moved his face, and talked, etc. and the middle eastern guy in the 3D render copied him. He made a lot of funny faces, and it just looked so real. Does anyone remember where that was?

Just to put this into context, the facial recognition software is only half the deal. It captures the articulation points impressively fast but all the amazing visuals you see are all due to the way the head model was made. [URL="http://galalmohey.blogspot.de/"]An artist[/URL] spent countless hours making several extreme poses of the same head that provide all the correct skin and muscle deformation as well as wrinkling. The software only blends the poses together. It's not like you can put in any character model and the space magic of programming will generate all this impressive detail you see and if the actor was to make a very specific, very crazy face that happens to not have been sculpted in advance, it would not work. The reason you don't see stuff like this in games is because the artists would need to spend TONS of work, creating countless variations of the same heads of all the crazy poses it can have, not to mention that it requires an impressive level of sculpting skill that is not found so easily.
I've always liked the facial animations in TF2 - they're more than detailed enough without drifting into insane realism. I find it hard to imagine more realistic animations taking place in a video game like that, but man should they offer some help to Call of Duty's wooden unchanging faces. (Yes, I'm aware of what H4ngman posted.)
