I wonder if they get a lot of broken windshields and car damage around the area when shooting upward in an urban area like that.

Celebratory gunfire deaths are a really common thing, especially in the Middle East.

Huh, I thought it was disproved that falling bullets could actually kill.
what a bunch of jackasses

No, bullets retain their ballistic trajectory unless they're fired perfectly vertical (in which case they start tumbling and achieve a lower terminal velocity) which is nearly impossible.

You can see they're firing rifle rounds fully-automatic at something like a 45 degree angle, that's extremely dangerous.
A quick google search result from ar15.com says:
Fired at a ~45 degree angle at sea level, a 123gr 7.62x39 round will travel 5,456 yards (approximately 3.1 miles) according to my ballistics calculator.
These guys seem to mostly be firing the AKS74u or similar, which mean a lighter, faster 5.45x39 round but out of a shorter barrel (meaning less velocity, generally). The difference most likely isn't that pronounced.
At least the guy at 1:20 is quite clearly firing blanks (lot of sparks) so I presume most of them are.

Or a shitty powder/dirty barrel. Both being extremely possible from Russia.
Would definitely leave the country as soon as possible if there were people this fucking dumb in the police force over here.
So this is why they let citizens carry guns there now :o
What the fuck, it's like they're an untrained rabble that was given guns.
The corruption in Russia's police force must be at astronomical levels
I know the Phillipines police does this as well, hence they needed to tape their guns :v:

blanks don't cycle an automatic or semiautomatic gun without a bulky and expensive adapter on the end of the barrel that not a single one of them have. sparks like that are fairly common with russian surplus ammunition

AK blank firing adapters are actually pretty small and look similar to the standard muzzle brake rather than the big plastic yellow/red BFAs that NATO uses.

It's impossible to tell in the video if any of them have those though.

It's also illogical to think that a police unit will have blank adapters and ammo. Blanks are for training, so they could only be obtainable in a academy or military base.

What is it like a bad province or something?

Exactly. Influenced by their close radical muslim neighbors, they (well, people you hear about in the news) are, or aim to be, stereotypical thugs.
just an area generally considered uncultured and rural in mindset with heavy emphasis on twisted machismo
like rednecks but worse basically
