thanks nostalgia critic for the nightmare fuel
i have to remember this now, even if you dont want me to.
There's something very off-putting about the art style but I have no idea what.
I thought it was common knowledge who Huey Dewey and Louie's parents are and why they aren't present? The backstory states that HDL are with their uncle because of an accident that resulted of a prank they pulled on their dad, where they put a firecracker under his chair. Their mother sent them to stay with Donald until he recoveres. Their mother, for that matter, is called Della Duck. Don Rosa made an entire "Duck Family Tree" where she's seen, portrait and all:

So a lot of this isn't really a mystery, it's just not really touched upon because there's not much to tell. :v:

Problem is that there's a lot of people out there that are familiar with the old cartoon and probably either never had any experience with the comics, and some likely didn't/don't realize they ever existed. As a result, for someone like the Nostalgia Critic, Della's clearly a new character to him, ontop of the fact that the reboot has her as a missing mom with what seems to be a planned story arc as to figuring why she's missing (the missing mom thing isn't new, but that seems to be way different from the direction the series is going in).
For a lot of folks, that's a big deal seeing as Della's kind of had some old stories but is kind of obscure. Infact, a lot of the Ducks are kind of obscure or long missing outside of comic stuff (and even inside it).

Probably the "modern" touch. I'm a fan of the redesigns but there is something truly remarkable about the classic look of the series.
