• Looking for a good digital pocket camera

Don't bitch at me for putting this in the wrong section, this forum says it's for gadgets etc... I've been looking for a good portable take w/ digital camera. Zoom doesn't matter that much to me, but image quality does. I've heard good things about the Sony's Cyber-Shot DSC-T90 (not the T900, that's a rip. It's 100 bux more for half a inch more of screen space) and how it's a very good camera for its price (about 230$) I was looking at that and I'm highly interested in it because it's loaded with features w/ 12 mp. Here's a picture taken with the t90. Now I was considering about getting the latest Coolpix camera, but I've heard and read multiple complaints about the color and some other issues. One camera I REALLY wanted was a Casio Exilim for its fast FPS videos, but they end up highly compressed and the stills the camera takes itself only go max 9 mp and when you use some of the special features it only goes to 6 mp. So I wasn't too interested because of the image quality. Overall: I'm interested in image quality Affordability (200-400 price range) Portability Features And I'll be honest, that I want a camera that doesn't look bad too. Sounds stupid, but that's just how I am. :buddy:Any suggestions? Any reviews? Any information is useful.:buddy:
Look more into the lens they have, the quality of a lens determines the quality of the picture, not the MP. Many cameras have a crazy high MP but have a weak image processor that causes the images to be degraded over a camera with a lower MP count since the processor isn't as strained.
You don't really need high-res pictures, especially if you end up uploading them. I end up resizing my photos down 50% along with 90% jpeg compression to bring them down to a reasonable size, but the quality is still fine. [editline]09:31AM[/editline] In other words, don't worry about MP.
That. and the one above. MP is a marketing trick. My old 5MP sony camera still servers me well. Also my 8mp cameraphone's pictures look like crap compared to it. Oh and also it's not just the lens quality, in the end it comes down to the lens size. (bigger=better)
Not necessarily..just because the lens is bigger doesn't mean it is better. I use a SLR and a i know prime lenses (50mm fixed lenses) take sharper and more clearer pictures then some other lenses.
I think I've decided on the DSC T-90. Even when not on HD, it looks great. :aaa:
i love it i love it so much
