Good idea, but as long as it's optional.
Or just use AMOLED screens
is it so hard to turn on power saving(monochrome) and lower the brightness, or even invert colors
I just use Twilight on Android It's by no means perfect but it seems to help
Apparently Apple won't let these kinds of apps on the app store
Also: did you know there was a version of Flux (the same one available on the desktop, not a clone) available for iOS briefly? But then Apple said "no, fuck off because we're too lazy to strip out our undocumented APIs" and pretty much forced them to take it down. So if anything, blame Apple for being assholes. I'd love something as solid as f.lux for android, as stuff like twilight using overlays isn't very effective; https://fluxometer.com/rainbow/#!id=Nexus%204%20Apps/twilight1500-nexus4 (You're much better off just dimming the screen!) But I recall there being an app for rooted android devices which did a decent job at reducing blues and intensity, but was still pretty shit at transitioning anywhere near what f.lux does. I remember hating f.lux on this windows box for almost a week before getting used to it, but now hate getting my retina's blasted if i haven't dimmed my phone (or its auto brightness gets confused)
I don't quite get it anyway, i use f.lux on my laptop for a month now and my sleeping habits haven't changed at all.
is it so hard to turn on power saving(monochrome) and lower the brightness, or even invert colors
On the phone I have (samsung s4) the brightness is too bright even if it's on lowest so I have to get an app that dims the screen. There's no way to turn off the light notifications either I think other than to flip the phone which is fine I guess. You can probably do it by switching off a few things and then switching them back on but what happens with people like me is that I easily forget to revert it all again. I really wish my phone had a bed mode with a timer that I could set to 8 hours if I'm gonna sleep or even 2 if I'm going to the cinema.
I use f.lux at work constantly and home when needed. I also have Twilight on my phone. I wish there was one for my iPad as my iPad is the only device I use to browse the web before going to sleep.

"As it gets darker in the evening, the body starts to produce the sleep hormone melatonin - which helps people nod off. Certain wavelengths of light, those at the blue-green end of the spectrum, can disrupt the system."
