• Private Messages - Gone Forever?

I've noticed there's no way to PM users. Does this mean our PMs from Old Punch are gone forever? Not too bothered about losing PMs, but being unable to PM or leave Visitor Messages is a bit iffy. I'm also gonna be a bit sad I can no longer get drunk and reminisce over really old PMs from like 2010.
This has been discussed before. PM history has not been transferred to the new database. If you want your PMs, you have to log into oldpunch and get them from there
Garry can read all your PMs still (unencrypted) from the old database directly you can still login and download these messages though as a txt, csv or xml file from the old forum garry's already talked about the PM system, and how he's not fond of calling them private if he can just read them from the backend side. but once he figures out a solution, then we'll probably have an answer to this question

I personally don't mind mods / Garry being able to read my PMs, and I never assumed PMs were 100% hidden from mods / Garry in the first place. feels a bit dodgy properly securing PMs so only the users involved can see it, can't help but feel that'd attract some fucked up stuff going on behind the scenes between weirdos.
Just call them Direct Message or something, not really a hard thing to solve.
what do you guys use PMs for? literally only time I'd use it is to send a user I'm not close with a message, or to clear stuff up. anyone I'm remotely close with, I add on Steam / Discord and share all the private, personal shit to my heart's content on that platform. anyone who uses PMs on a forum for genuinely personal stuff that they don't want to be seen is just playing themselves.
It would be limited to administrators if anything, moderators shouldn't be given complete access to everything serious shit happens, remember when BDA got hacked, good times (I forgive you)
The only times i've used it has been related to people asking about lewd avatars.
