As the thread title says, it's almost impossible to navigate the new forum on mobile,

I understand that fixing it may not be the current priority considering that the forum is brand new, but i wanted to report it just in case
Mobile support has not been added yet, Garry is working on the desktop implementation right now. All you can do is "Request desktop site" and it is less broken.
Hopefully I soon can release an update to my app, that makes the site usable on Android.

speaking of this website on mobile, ages ago I made a manifest.json that would be cool to add to this website:

As funky as it is, I still like how functional the site is on mobile. I'm able to scroll to anything without it being locked away off-screen, which is more than I could say for oldpunch. I have to scroll a bit to get the bottom bar to appear, images are a bit squashed and rating takes some precision or a few tries, but I'm addicted enough to this site that I'm fine with it, it's almost a little fun little trial.

start praying for a good mobile site as Garry has already said the majority of the users are desktop so the mobile design comes second.
Lets hope facepunch droid is good
the old style newpunch from a week or so ago had a pretty decent mobile stylesheet. i just don't think it's a priority for garry until everything more pressing gets finished

idk, I probably use Facepunch like 20% or more from mobile. I feel like it should be a top priority to at least get a basic mobile layout going because right now it's not just a pain to use, it's almost entirely unusable.
probably not the best idea to push the new forum without mobile support. i also tend to check news/videos on mobile a lot and at the moment the avatar margin takes up a third of the page. it's not fantastic, hoping it gets fixed soon.

Sort of related, but newpunch really loves to crash the Safari browser on my iPad 3 when opening a thread. I suspect it's because of embedded articles, but I don't know for sure.

I browse Facepunch a lot more from my mobile than my desktop. I don't mind change but I physically can not easily use the forum anymore in the way I use it most. It simply does not work.
Update: This thread now also crashes my tablet. No idea what's causing it.
I use facepunch about 90% on my phone and it's shit.

lots of people almost exclusively browse facepunch on mobile, most of my time is reading on the way to work/when im travelling around and atm i just cant be bothered fucking around with flipping my phone or putting it to desktop mode every single new tab
Kinda a bold statement if you cannot back it up with numbers. All we know is from garry himself that the absolute majority of FP users are desktop based. However, I do feel your pain, you might want to be interested in this CSS (Shameless plug, i know, but it fits the conversation) when browsing FP on mobile.
I have to ask, is this a mock-up for the new style or an actual pic of the new app layout in action?

A forum with such a huge user base is bound to have a decent number of mobile users just on the basis that it's 2018 and almost everyone uses a smartphone tho.
Does NewPunch have polls? Let's put a poll on this thread to see how many people use facepunch mobile occasionally/often/exclusively
For me it's >50%. I just use mobile
Probably best to redirect mobile users to a m.forum.facepunch.com subdomain and write CSS specific to mobile clients rather than taking the hammer to the desktop layout and forcing it to be responsive to every single mobile device.
