No emergency stop switch? I saw people jumping off early in the line once they realized what was happening.
Apparently no one died, only 5 injures but still something terrible (it was going backwards too)

Why did the people at 0:52 decide to stay on the lift when people were pretty obviously jumping off early? Like what were they expecting to happen?

I can't believe the guy that got sucked into it at 0:53 didn't die, I thought for sure I was watching borderline gore when that happened.
The dude at 52 seconds looks like he was stuck on it, he definitely got slammed into all the wrecked pieces though. Poor guy.
Some people just freeze up in panic situations. I'm guessing that's what happened, could be wrong though.
Saw this earlier. Couldn't believe there was no one to hit the emergency stop. Every time I've gone skiing, if you even looked like you slipped just a little, they'd slow the lift to a crawl and if someone fell, even at the bottom of the off ramp, that was a hit on the emergency stop.
Jesus christ, normally I feel nothing for accident videos but this one really struck me hard. Reminded me of standing a few meters from the truck/lorry blasting through Nice.
This would be why you should have an emergency stop button, I cannot belive it took them over two minutes to get it stopped. Thank god nobody died I though for sure when that second guy got sucked in he was a goner.

Jesus those things make me nervous when they're crawling along at 5mph, I couldn't imagine how I'd feel in that situation
