Trump Moves Stormy Daniels Lawsuit to Federal Court https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-03-16/trump-moves-stormy-daniels-lawsuit-to-federal-court President Donald Trump is taking the fight with porn star Stormy Daniels to federal court to keep her from disclosing details about their alleged affair. The lawsuit that Daniels filed last week in California state court was moved to federal court in Los Angeles by Essential Consultants LLC, the entity with which she signed a $130,000 non-disclosure agreement in 2016. Daniels’s real is Stephanie Clifford. Trump will be supporting the transfer of the case between courts, according to Essential Consultants’ filing on Friday. This timeline, huh guys?
Uh wow that's really fucked
Stormy Daniels' lawyer claimed today that she was "threatened with physical harm" to keep her quiet but that he wasn't at liberty to elaborate what the threat was or who it came from
What a great example from the party of Christian values!
What's blowing my mind is how the evangelical right will not let go of this guy no matter what he does or has done. These are the same people who would make up fabrications about what infidelities peoples history contained and actually judge them based on that. But, call something "FAKE NEWS" and suddenly they're okay with a huge amount of just straight up sexual misconduct.
Another class act from Trumps Circus
yeah there was definitely nothing going on between them yep yep 100%
Taking this with a grain of salt, but CNN is now reporting that "the lawyer representing the adult film star Stormy Daniels alleges that some of the accusations she's making against President Donald Trump occurred while Trump was in office." (emphasis mine) Apparently Storm Daniels is doing a 60 Minutes interview on the 25th of this month.
Fucking do it. I think Stormy Daniels has been provoking him into this and he's totally taking the bait It seems like there's pretty reasonable evidence to suggest there was at least some kind of contact between them and I want to see them try to prove her wrong No matter how this ends up we're gonna end up finding out some new dirt about the guy
This man is our president. This fucking creature, is our president.
Taking this to court was about the most absurd decision he could have made, which I guess is just to be expected at this point. His lawyer was claiming that Trump had no knowledge or input in this decision at all. Challenging her in federal court completely sinks that narrative, while simultaneously validating Clifford's story.
"I did not missionary style that Playboy...."
Imagine if despite all of Mueller's investigating, it's a porn star that brings Trump down
I wouldn't complain at this point. Beggars can't be choosers.
He did very publicly and passionately muse about "opening up the Libel Laws"...
Wouldn't it be easier for him to just let her run the story (which it seems she's doing anyway on 60 Minutes) and then deny it? What is the point of taking her to court and effectively verifying that he indeed had an affair with her? I don't understand the point of this or what strategy could possibly be taking place.
Maybe he'd rather the world know that he had an affair and force her not to disclose the details, instead of the world not being 100% sure if she's telling the truth or not, but having her disclose some really dirty details on exactly what they did in the bedroom. If the piss tape rumours are anything to go by, Trump might be into some really uh... interesting fetishes.
Maybe he's taking it to Federal court because he thinks he can pardon himself.
I hate Trump but even I doubt he would go that far. He's more of the type to do petty stuff like shitposting on Twitter.
"I most certainly did not have sexual relations with that woman, that's why I'm taking her to court for breaking our hush money agreement over our sexual relations (not true, by the way!)"
The lawyer who shut down gawker is joining trump's team, and they want 20 million dollars in damages from Daniels, https://www.thedailybeast.com/gawker-killer-charles-harder-joins-trump-legal-team-demands-dollar20-million-from-stormy-daniels Charles Harder, the attorney who destroyed Gawker, has joined President Trump’s legal battle with Stormy Daniels. And, according to court papers, Trump wants at least $20 million in damages from the porn star and erotic dancer for breaking their deal and talking about their relationship. And a trump organization lawyersigned documanents relating to a gag order on Daniels before the 2016 election, and Daniels' lawyer's been approached by more women for cases against trump, https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-org-tied-to-stormy-daniels-gag-order-as-more-women-threaten-to-sue Just hours after reports emerged that Trump Organization lawyer Jill A. Martin signed two legal documents linked to a gag order against Daniels just before the 2016 presidential election—an effort the White House insists the president himself was not aware of—Michael Avenatti, a lawyer for Daniels, dropped the bombshell that other women have approached him about legal cases against the president.Avenatti, who is currently representing Daniels in her bid to have the $130,000 nondisclosure agreement dropped so she can spill her story, offered no details on how many women allegedly want to speak out. Speaking to BuzzFeed News, he said only that it was “confirmed” other women had approached him about potential legal action. The news appeared to take the scandal surrounding Daniels’ claims up a notch, as it now appears it wasn’t only Trump lawyer Michael Cohen involved in efforts to sweep Daniels’ story under the rug, but the Trump Organization as well, according to NBC News.
Christ, Trump uses his favourite people to do everything. Not only was Trump's lawyer Cohen involved in covering up the Stormy Daniels affair by registering a shell company to pay her off via pseudonym, the Trump campaign was involved, and now we find that the Trump Org is involved. What's happening Monday? We find out Jared was in a meeting about it with Cohen and a Saudi businessman? Also, just as a side note in the Stormy Daniels affair: The notary who notarized paperwork involving the agreement is being investigated because she stamped the document with her notary's stamp without: signing the document (next to/on the stamp) dating the document (ditto) obtaining and maintaing certificates from each document participant (that would be Cohen and Trump, and potentially Daniels) Failure to do these is justification for being fired as a notary public and losing certification. I wonder why the agreement between David Dennison and whateverthefuckPP wasn't properly endorsed and the identity certificates weren't collected? Can't be for any nefarious reason, huh?
Honestly? I wouldn't be surprised at all if that's his train of thought.
He's got a lawyer, I doubt he's thinking about this stuff himself. His lawyer is supposedly incompetent, so maybe he's wrong on how stuff works.
I think the pastor in my current church doesn't like Trump either. I'm currently in red PA and he made a joke about people lying to cover themselves in regards to a bible passage. He first went over "I am not a crook" which got people chuckling. Then he followed it up with "people yelling fake news" and a lot of them shut up. Hopefully they'll at least contemplate the similarities if they haven't done so already. I think the majority of religious people in MA though are anti-Trump. At least most of my friends are.
Stormy Daniels is the hero we need and deserve. I think it would be the finest irony to these last shitty two years if the orange celebrity businessman overlord of america was dethroned by a Porn Star.
What would he even be pardoned from? Also isn't a pardon an admission of guilt?
My understanding is that the Stormy Daniels thing isn't just about "haha Trump had an affair, gross!", but that they used campaign funds to pay her for her silence, which is allegedly a violation of campaign finance law. So he would be pardoning himself from whatever charges arise from violating campaign finance law.
Meeting people who are so thoroughly brainwashed by Fox News and other fake news channels is so fucking disappointing. It's straight up indoctrination, lies, and racist vitriol that people tune into and start to agree with, and later defend. They seriously believe that Hillary Clinton murders people, and teamed up with Obama to form a DEEP STATE COUP to get trump Impeached and replaced with ... who knows? the fucking anti-christ?
How do you pardon yourself from the guilt of a lawsuit
