FBI’s Andrew McCabe is fired a little more than 24 hours before ..
Fucking disgusting.
This is so fucking vile and hateful.
"Attorney General Jeff Sessions late Friday night fired former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, a little more than 24 hours before McCabe was set to retire... The move will likely cost McCabe a significant portion of his retirement benefits" lol what a dick move
Damn.. He was two days from Retirement...
Firing someone to save money on retirement benefits when Mnuchin spent a million dollars of taxpayer money on travel expenses. sigh
If rumors are anything to go by, it sounds like Trump gave Sessions an ultimatum: Fire McCabe or get fired yourself. This appears to be a continuation of the ongoing power struggle between the president and his AG; after Sessions' recusal from the Russia probe, Trump has been looking for a way to reassert control over his "disloyal" minion. Looks like Sessions decided to save his own skin -- for the moment. Spoiler alert: It won't save either of them. Slimy, spiteful bastards the lot of them.

Criminal and vile.
That's fucking abhorrent, same thing happened to Comey, why can't they just contact them directly and tell them that they have been fired like a normal person.

Ladies and gentlemen the party of 'law and order.'
The idea that Jeff Sessions is going to fire anyone for "lacking candor" is fucking preposterous.
It seems like everyday, Trump invents new ways to prove to the world that he's a vicious, petty little man child with no conscience or soul. I can only hope that just like everything else so far, this backfires spectacularly and lands Trump in even more hot water than he's already in.
Posted earlier today on Twitter, before McCabe was fired: Hmmmm, really makes you think 🤔🤔🤔 https://twitter.com/oliverdarcy/status/974779465095155712
Firing someone a day early so they can't collect retirement sounds like a lawsuit
Not terribly surprising, wasn't the Nunes memo "leaked" to a handful of conservative outlets before being given to everyone else?
Not really that stunning tbh when you realize media outlets often write multiple draft versions of stories based on different hypothetical outcomes so they can drop the scoop the second it comes out rather than having to write the story after the fact. There's been examples of this happening in the past where a site will publish a draft article that contradicts the real story.
True, but the timing is still interesting with it being today in particular.
There's a lot that going to come out of this. He's going to talk, and fight to make sure Mueller is protected. This may have been one of the stupider calls Trump has made.
Especially when you remember that the event they are firing him over happened in late 2016. It's early 2018. Why fire him now?
this is some of the pettiest shit in the world
Fox News has been anxiously awaiting the firing for a couple days, and media personalities often have ""sources"" that drop hints at when shits about to go down. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if someone at Fox heard it first but I don't think it's a big conspiracy other than Fox (obviously) being the Admins/Republicans outlet and having sources inside that drop hints. (though all the media giants have internal sources) Hell I was eating dinner with my mother who is an avid Fox News viewer and one of the girls was complementing the accuracy of her sources inside because she mentioned earlier today to the host woman that this might be going down tonight. So they probably had someone draft up a copy and then fucked up by publishing it.
Hey he went to a law school I'm considering! Hope that's not an omen for my future going to shit because some asshole is gonna act like a baby...
If the whole Trump gang including Sessions gets taken down by Mueller, any way to restore the chunk of retirement he just lost? Would be a crying shame to have that taken just because of Crybaby-and-chief Mr Cheeto Fucknugget
why is this administration so obsessed with making enemies? is there anything to be gained from this, politically?
No matter what way you sugarcoat it? There's no merit to this firing. Just spite and a petty motivation. I seriously hope he pursues a lawsuit because there's nothing just about this.
"noting that both the Justice Department Inspector General and the FBI office that handles discipline had found “that Mr. McCabe had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor — including under oath — on multiple occasions.” He said based on those findings and the recommendation of the department’s senior career official, “I have terminated the employment of Andrew McCabe effective immediately.” JD Inspector General (confirmed 2012) and the FBI's own internal OPR conclusion/Senior career official's recommendation paint a different picture than the straight up partisan act people on here seem to only imagine. Like I haven't even seen anyone in this thread acknowledge that maybe McCabe made mistake here. Could then suggest the punishment was too harsh, but it isn't over seemingly nothing.
