McCabe noted in his statement that he had knowledge that could be useful to Mueller's investigation into events involving the president.
Oh boy oh boy oh boy
Well, we wanted a more transparent presidency, I guess we got one, because I can't imagine how someone could possibly act any more guilty than Trump is right now.
Let's hope Muller sits down with him ASAP
And, at minimum, those things of interest to Mueller include what James Comey told him after Trump fired him for ~totally nothing to do with the Russia thing except oh fuck I said it was the Russia thing on TV, FAKE NEWS!!!~.
He is a witness to Comey's firing and, consequently, a witness against Trump for obstruction of justice.
Trump is trying to intimidate witnesses into silence to maintain his sloppy coverup(s).
I have to give credit where it's at least due that he tried not to let the chaos of things effect his focus on the job. I hope Karma eventually catches up to this administration and McCabe is compensated.
Even if Trump hadn't gloated over it beforehand, even if the retirement pension hadn't been involved... this would still have been a disgustingly transparent move
just give him a chance you guys
Oh shit hang on, by taking away McCabe's pension Trump removed the only thing that might have discouraged him from not just complying, but actively aiding the investigation. There are no strings on him whatsoever. Obstruction of justice, yes yes yes
That's true, but you're missing that they've also created grounds to argue that he cannot testify based on exactly those grounds. By firing him for "lack of candor," they've also established a narrative to argue that he is not a credible or honest witness, and in taking away his pension they have also created grounds to imply that he has a motive to lie.
Fair point, I'll take that. There are a certain number of Republicans who would definitely question his 'bias' as they would just about everyone involved in the investigation. They've been trying to build a narrative that the FBI and Mueller are Hillary Agents, so I suppose another witness being accused of bias is a drop in the pond. It's plain to see at this point that a Democrat victory in the midterms is required for impeachment, and the 'RINO' more sensible Republicans who still love their country may be enough to tip the balance. It really is all about November.
"World's most incompetent leader continues to shock the world with his incompetence..."
Really destroying my predictions of this Watergate speedrun, its on octane now mothafucka...
Watergate 206% Speedrun
BDA I can't remember which thread you predicted this in, but you were totally right:

This is fine. Everything is fine. Everything is perfectly normal, just Republicans inviting felons while yelling about the rule of law.
Feeding your own public lies and omniphobia as their so-called leader in order to save your own treasonous ass in blatant public fashion. I remember when I was in disbelief at the kind of things he would do a year ago, and then it all sadly got so normalized with scandal overload that no pit he broke through could phase me.
But something about this completely bold faced "I'm clean, trust me, it was [THEM] now dismantle all trust and understanding of fundamental parts of the government for my express benefit, minions." that brings back some of that disbelief. What a fucking disgrace.
Of note is that, I believe at least, this is the first time Trump called out Mueller by name.
What's he going to call Mueller? Meddlin' Mueller?
A little over two hours remaining for Trump to pull a Saturday Night Massacre before it would technically be a Sunday Morning Massacre
"It was based on fraudulent activities"
Yes, Donald. YOUR fraudulent activities.
Kinda rude to massacre your own people though so maybe he should just sit down, shut up, and let Mueller do his job rather than making things worse for himself.
This whole ordeal seems more like "Yeah im a crook whatchu gonna do about it huh?" Mostly because Trump and his administration is so bad at lying.
But i can't understand this, all of this happening and the CIA and FBI are completely fine with this? I mean this is getting out of hand, day by day the democratic and liberal values of america are just being undermined.
I am fairly confident in saying neither the FBI or CIA are cool with this (although this does fall under the FBI's domain mostly, since the CIA deals with external threats), but they do have to follow the law. The President in particular is difficult to remove, since he must first be impeached before he can be charged for any crimes he may have done. But with the current administration, there is zero chance Trump will be impeached. Earliest chance will be next if Democrats can pull a good mid-term election.
Trump doesn't know how alliteration works, so he'll call him "Stinky Mueller"
Mueller, Rosenstein, Wray, Comey, etc. Essentially everybody who has leadership in this investigation and/or are in a position to terminate it are lifelong Republicans. The narrative that this is a partisan conspiracy is complete bogus.
