Does anyone know why my monitor doesn't get a signal only after restarting? Windows 8.1 Radeon HD 5570, I've tried both ports of the graphics card. (VGA and DVI with an adaptor)
If I switch on the computer normally, the monitor works
If I shut down and switch on, the monitor works
But, if I tell windows to restart, the monitor goes into standby because it isn't receiving a signal when the computer turns off (as expected) but it never switches on again. Unplugging it and plugging it in again when windows has loaded doesn't work either.
Thanks!
Are you sure windows actually loaded? Because it could be just that it doesn't actually restart properly (or at least all devices don't).
I recall that being an issue for me at some point, it was either the motherboard smbus drivers that I had to install or I just disabled standby and hibernation modes in the BIOS since I didn't use them.
Thanks for the reply. Windows has definitely loaded because I hear the start up chime after a minute or so.
Does anyone else have any suggestions or things I could try?
Thanks
