Well at least they have the right to bear arms 😏
Ohhhh man, can you imagine the local community? SATANIC RITUALS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD? REEEEE
I'm confused, the article mentions goat and chicken heads yet the charges are of 'cruelty to non-livestock animals'. Does the classification as a livestock animal have more to do with licensing/ownership for the animal or whatever than with the species of the animal itself because I'd figure chickens and goats are livestock animals...
Actually I'm pretty sure chickens have wings.
Reminds me a little of that one rapper who admitted to performing brujeria(?) rituals in her closet by sacrificing chickens with a kitchen knife.
In addition to animal cruelty, the guilty parties should also be charged with failing to get with the times. How can you live in the 21st century and still think there's a logic to animal sacrifice.
How does it being [current year] ever change anything? I've never understood this sentiment.
Because there's a greater access to information, outdated ways of understanding the world should ideally have gone by the wayside.
It's pretty clear that presenting people with evidence is not always an effective way of changing their opinion
Obviously. But they still hold backward beliefs and as [current year] increases, it becomes increasingly backward to do so, bordering on willful ignorance, thus "failing to get with the times".
People believe that a magical sky man will get angry at them if they breed without carrying out a lengthy monogamy ritual first, and this statement probably applies to the plurality of Americans. If people think that sacrificing animals will make their specific magical sky being happy they'll do it regardless of how knowledgeable or technologically advanced humanity is.
Organized religion is the norm so it's easily explainable why people believe in it, but with animal sacrifice there's that extra leap of logic required since very few people are indoctrinated into it from childhood. You have to go out of your way to unlearn the scientific worldview taught in schools. Either that or there is a massive cognitive dissonance with these people.
Sergeant Elizabeth Gonzalez says officers saw more than a dozen people inside a garage where a woman was cutting up animal parts while another person drained the blood of a chicken into a container. Sergeant Gonzalez says: "It appears that they were having some sort of unknown ritual." Police also discovered more mutilated animals in the property, including goat heads and more chickens. I feel like a lot of details are missing from this news, considering that sounds exactly like what happens in a run-of-the-mill slaughterhouse.
Azealia Banks, she can be pretty unhinged at times, and that was like the pinnacle of fucked up
