I'm not really an anime guy and it'd be nice to get some input if these are terrible buys. I spent Saturday just reading up on stuff because i refuse to believe what they've got in local stores is the cream of the crop since it all looks like teenage literature. Last time i asked for suggestions on what Anime to buy here i got some pretty good recommendations from people, even if most of it was borderline creepy maid stuff.
She's been listening to a lot of different horror themed podcast so i kinda went with that theme. The Nausicaa Box is what i hope to be my safe bet, it seemed kinda obscure in the way as a novice like me hadn't really heard about it. But still something connected to the Hayao guy who did the flying pig stuff, which she's really into.

I would absolutely consider Monster, It's a mystery/thriller. It's been a while since I last watched it, but it was one of those series that I decided to give the three episode test and ended up binge watching nearly the entire series.
If you're looking for horror-animus, try Bible Black. It's about this highschool cult that do creepy rituals and stuff, I think. Should be real good and popular.

Try the Junji Ito selected works book, Shiver. Great horror material right there.
