In the midst of working off a prison sentence, an astronaut named
Gary meets mysterious, planet-destroying alien Mooncake, with whom he
immediately bonds. But Gary doesn't realize that his new sidekick is
actually in demand by the sinister Lord Commander, who will do all he
can to secure Mooncake's untapped evil powers. This
animated intergalactic comedy follows Gary and Mooncake's adventures to
unlock the mystery of "Final Space," where the universe ends
TBS made a show thats entirely too good to be on their network. I didn't even know this show existed until Adult Swim ran the pilot a few weeks ago. Its hard to understate how epic this show is.
This show owns. It's created by and starring Olan Rogers, so if you like his humour you'll fall in love with this quickly.

I didn't care for the pilot but a friend recommended it to me, describing the show as it's as if an even more incompetent Zapp Brannigan from Futurama was put in serious situations.
I just watched all of it in a few days.
I find pretty much all characters unfunny and forced, especially at the start, but the situations make them sometimes funny and the plot is fun to follow.
It's like if you took stereotypical zany characters that would fit in a kids show, but made them go through series of serious and horrible events. The production values are way up there, which helps a lot.
So in the end I really liked it. If you liked the end of Regular Show and the final seasons of Adventure Time, I think you should give this a try. RS and AT are definitely funnier but toward the end they were diving into serious matters as a way to end the show, but Final Space starts this way, which is interesting imo.
It's a good watch. Not gonna lie, the main character does get incredibly annoying at some points and it would be great if he could just shut up for a minute but overall it was really fun to watch. The plot was surprisingly good and damn the soundtracks are amazing
I really like how at the beginning of each episode, they begin with the counting of the main character's supposed death. But I personally think that there should be more story development at the beginning. But I reckon they might just be building it all up for a second season.
this like Disenchanted probably need more time to build out, like Garry's actually important backstory only gets told at the very end of the show, and there's already a lot of balancing between exposition and action with the show trying to slide more action out of its runtime.
Watched it over 2 days, I liked it.
What is it with these seemingly light-hearted shows that lure you in with their humor and their cartoon looks only to repeatedly gut punch you to the point where you're begging for the sweet, sweet release of death?
Don't know if it's only because this shows manages to push my Mass Effect buttons but god damn I didn't expect it to make me cry like a bitch.
Guardians of the Galaxy looks weird now.
Fun fact, I know one of their composers.
Might as well use this chance to post some snippets of season 2:

wow I was worried it wouldn't even get renewed, I didn't expect teasers for S2 so soon
I read somewhere that the scripts are all finished and they're doing the animation now but its still not going to be out till late this year but I can't seem to find the source.
Animation takes the longest.
It'll be interesting to see where they go after the season 1 jumping of the shark removing the earth from pur dimension I hope avacado makes a comeback somehow
Olan wrote that on his twitter and on the Final Space subreddit.
