• Offlined everytime T3 wb is up, bad design, foul play or abundancy of exploits?

Hello, I hope people won't see this as just another thread regarding workbenches and scrap costs. Me and my friends have been playing Rust basically non stop for the last 4-5 weekends. I've owned the game for over a year and my friends for a couple of months. I have never ever gotten a tier 3 wb up as a solo player AND gotten BP's, but as my friends joined in and we played _many_ hours together on a server, we started getting both BP's and higher tiered workbenches up. The problem appeared during saturdays and sundays though.. we would _ALWAYS_ get raided as soon as our T3 wb got up. It didn't matter if we built small, medium or large bases. Sometimes the base would get raided in what I think is fair play, ofc. But most of the time we could manage to not get raided for at least a couple of days. The moment we put up a T3 wb though: we got offlined between 3 and 5 am. Always. Never ever did we have the wb or the base in our possession come morning after putting it up. We tried to build a new base, we tried to use the current base, we tried to use the old base... to no avail. We could be untouched and have 4 bases up all over the map, diversifying our loot and components so that if we got raided at one place, we'd have other bases ready to go. But the moments we put up our T3 wb, we get raided. My mind instantly goes towards foul play since it's such a painfully obvious fact: Get t3 wb, get offline raided. Entire base taken over and/or griefed. Never ever did we get partially raided when we had a tier 3 bench, always fully raided. We've tried different servers, we've tried different designs.. it's just the same all the time. Are we the only one's experiencing this? Are we just incredibly unlucky? Or is it so common with foul play of exploits and/or ESP/other hacks? The difficult part is: How do Rust counter this? Me and my friends have quit playing Rust for now, we simply cannot put another week and weekends worth of time out of our lives only to have the end game we seek be taken away from us by dirty players. I have begun to think that T3 workbenches simply are too valuable. Really large groups and zergs can get them within an hour of play while the smaller groups have to really work hard for them and over a longer period of time. Mix this up with a lot of bugs/explots/hacks and the cost of T3 workbenches gets to be an even heavier burden for players. We finally stopped playing as the T3 workbench simply felt out of reach since we got it and the base taken away from us by someone who seems to blatantly use ESP to raid our bases (the base was always breached in the best way possible to the TC. Never did the raiders seem to go through boogey hallways, dead ends and such). Are we alone in this matter? Do anybody else have this experience or are we just really dumb and/or really unlucky? What are your experiences on exploits, foul play in raiding and cost of the T3 workbench? It feels weird and sad that I have never ever been able to create and wreak havoc with an AK because I've never gotten to have the T3 workbench for more than a few hours. It sucks to know that whoever raided our base now completely owns it as well, they just got another T3 wb to craft from for an easy cost. Sulfur ain't a problem to farm up. Especially if you're a slightly bigger group.
Its the bane of everyone, Offline raiding is the new #METOO movement , even if they could raid you while online they wont! I just wish Bases had more defenses, the clans with the loot box filled with C4 and Rockets always win
I can SOOOO relate to your story!!!
I would say its really really bad luck. Although again - for context, alot would depend on what kind of server you play, what the population is, and is there an admin (to combat hackers), is it official server (i.e potentially no abusive admin). The whole official vs community thing goes both ways. You guys could just be getting "raided" by a salty admin (who is abusing his powers) - but likewise on official servers there are "more" hackers per capita. Although I have been on official server since November (5 months now) and never been raided by a hacker. I havent been raided much period. In 5 months I got raided twice. I always get to keep my t3 - for weeks. I play on US East Facepunch server. Issue could be - as described above, abusive admin (or lack of - if on official), and maybe you guys just cant "read the map" and build in bad spots? Maybe your teammates talk too much shit and piss people off? You build too close to a monument and you build an easy raidable base? Or all of the above? I try to make a base at least 40 satchels strong (to raid) before I even consider putting a t3 in there. This is on vanilla official of course. Online raiding is currently broken due to the roof exploit. Once they fix the roof exploit - we can look back at online raiding. Right now someone will just upgrade their core to armored, making their presumably 10/20 satchel online raid base, 4x times as difficult to raid (80+ satchels). Its pretty much just not worth it to online anyone who is smart and knows how to build with the current "meta roof-exploit".
