Making of a escape menu

Hello,

So after my recent post I thought about making a escape menu. I'm totally new to coding (I only made some huds) so I thought that this would be my first step to becoming a prof.
I want to keep it at something simple. Just whenever a player presses the ESC button a box will appear with a simple text like: "Do you really want to disconnect?"

And the player has a choice either yes or no. Do I need dermapanels for this?

Where do I start and are there any good tutorials on the internet?

I'd advise making a HUD instead, it's easier. Also, last time I checked people don't really like people overriding the pause menu.

Yeah, I understand that. I hate it myself, but still I'm curious. I'm currently almost done with a PUBG HUD. So I really want to make something new after that.
