And I'm not surprised.
Like honestly, between Trump, Bannon and pretty much everyone else Trump is surrounded by, the use of money and women is probably par the course and even necessary.
Pee. Tape.
Amazing moments in undercover reporting: Alexander Nix boasts about using hidden cameras while being filmed by a hidden camera

This is fucking huge. This seriously is some next level cyberpunk esque bullshit. The faster you Americans can get that corrupt, loathsome piece of corrupted shit, the better. I also have to ask, what kind of implications does this have on the political atmosphere in Britain?
How can you all not lose your mind seeing the constant stream of shit ? I sure can't.
BTW this is only part two of three in the Cambridge Analytica exposé. Part one was the whistleblower stuff, and part three will air tomorrow night and focus on their work for the Trump campaign
Aaaand people will still find a way to delude themselves that it's fake news. They'll probably pull the PROFESSIONAL ACTORS card.
Jesus christ
Considering how much day 2 escalates things, day 3 is hopefully going to be somewhat world changing. If anything the fact these guys were even able to operate as well as they did leads me to believe we seriously need to look at how legislation can be used more effectively to prevent this level of interference in elections.
God am I happy this is all coming out, I've been trying to research these dudes myself since seeing their name pop up a while back in a few places but I never imagined it was quite this awful.
I hope all this was turned over to investigators before being made public. I'd hate for critical evidence to have been destroyed because authorities couldn't respond quickly enough after the news broke.
y i k e s
This is starting to hit on the levels of Panama Papers stuff. Multiple politicians and the like, across many many countries, all doing shady illegal shit (but what else is new, lol)
I'm amazed Cambridge Analytica was even able to get this far without getting called out on it previously. Like, they're not even working in the shadows, so to speak? they've been proudly putting their name on everything??
lotta respect to journalists and whistleblowers for bringing this out
Channel 4 tends to know what they're doing with their exposes. This is a lightning fast warrant response to a report, there's already investigators inside CA as we speak.
They must have because immediately after the report ended, they cut back to the studio and the information commissioner was there for a live interview, which is when she announced they were seeking a warrant to raid Cambridge Analytica
Just what's already broken is earth shattering in terms of its depth, width, and severity. If they're saving "the best" for last, I almost shudder to think what tomorrow night will bring.
So surely with this level of electoral interference, bribery, blackmail, etc. this should call the results of said election into question? The votes cannot have been assumed to have been made on good faith at this point as a third party was purposefully trying to rig the election in favour of someone.
This applies to basically everything they've interfered with, not just the US Presidency mind.
CA's amazing response to this is worth a read btw, TLDR this was just locker room talk/a prank
After several meetings discussing ostensibly legitimate projects, the reporter unexpectedly and suddenly turned the conversation towards practices such as corruption and the entrapment of political figures.
Assessing the legality and reputational risks associated with new projects is critical for us, and we routinely undertake conversations with prospective clients to try to tease out any unethical or illegal intentions. The two Cambridge Analytica executives at the meeting humoured these questions and actively encouraged the prospective client to disclose his intentions. They left with grave concerns and did not meet with him again.
We use meetings like this to make an informed decision about those whom we should or shouldn’t engage with, in line with the guidance laid out by Section 9 of the UK Bribery Act 2010. The company’s practice is for staff to gently de-escalate the conversation before removing themselves from the situation.
I mean that excuse worked for Trump...
This... escalated super quickly. Here I thought them creating psychological profiles to target campaign ads under Brannon's eye was the start and end of the big story here.
Whoa, whoa, whoa - this feels huge but I have no idea what's going on. Can anyone summarize what this place is and what their relevance is to all these big companies and Trump?
I want this to end but at the same time I don't. It has been one hell of a ride.
They used personality tests on Facebook to gather truckloads of data and create psychological profiles of tens of millions of Americans in order to target political ads at them in 2016. They apparently worked for Mercer and Bannon and they're being investigated by Mueller and a few other separate agencies.
I want this to end exactly when there's no more corrupt shitstains of people and companies left to expose.
From what I can gather Cambridge Analytica is a firm that uses information gained from social media to create targeted adverts to sway people's political leanings. Similarly in some regards to how search history and video viewing history can influence the adverts you see on Youtube (Though this information is going to be a gross simplification).
The information gathered from social media was done without the knowledge of anyone it took the information from and the targeted adverts where often times grossly inaccurate and 'Fake News'.
However, I assume CA dose not create the adverts themselves, they contract it out and use the data to target people whom it would be the most effective on. Though this by no ways absolves them of any wrong doing.
In short, they have been collecting information to spread lies about political figures to the people whom it would be most effective on to influence the outcomes of multiple elections across the world, not just in the USA.
