With @garry 's current trend of gamifying the forums with coins and levels being incentives for activity, I think a user leaderboard might be a cool feature. Could have top five or so users in categories like:
Highest level
Highest amount of coins
Highest post count
Highest average posts per day
Highest number of times banned
Could even take it a step further and break it down into users who have received the highest amount of ratings for each rating.
I'm pretty sure FP is collecting all of these metrics anyways, so having them accessible to users would be neat.
Any other category ideas? What are your thoughts?
reminds me of the days we had the ratings system leaderboards. but yeah that stuff is always fun imo. im not sure i'd want to have 'highest coins' and encourage hoarding, but maybe "most given coins" instead could be a nice stat to have.
Highest number of times banned
Bad idea, will just encourage bad behavior
Well permabans based on extensive ban history were a thing so it'd really just be keeping track of who's closest to being perma'd and I highly doubt that'd be encouraging. It'd really just show overall worst posters.
Seeing as threads viewed are tracked too, a stat for that would be neat too. I don't know if bots would mess with that leaderboard (or if they could be filtered out) but it could be a neat thing to track. And lurkers would have something too.
Oldest active users (post/activity within the past week or something) might be cool too. Give those 05'ers more to inflate their ego.
I don't think we need a leaderboard system like this. I mean, yeah, the coins are a great gimmick, but that's all. I mean I don't have many coins ~135 pieces right now. But I don't seem to care.
I've seen people here with 500+ coins.
I mean sure lol not like 99% of us will have any piece of the ego fame
The biggest child molester
Those all could be boiled down into 'Shit poster of the day'.
what about length banned?
