Seeing a show of about shooter games that have to censor guns every time bullets comes out of them sounds hilarious
I swear the people who make these shows have never been a kid or have never been anywhere near a kid.
Woke up the other morning and that "Parker Plays" thing was on TV, I thought I was still asleep.
I was dissapointed.
Okay, when I saw the intro, I was seriously under the impression that this show was from the early 2000s. I didn't realize otherwise until modern Youtube stuff like RetroAhoy and LGR started showing up.
I haven't seen the show but a just a little fun fact, Joel Rubin from Funhaus/Rooster Teeth actually writes for that show. I'd point the finger at Disney for watering everything down.
I half expected the "For General Audiences" rating to turn into "For GAMERS X)"
I was wondering when the public is going know about the gloriousness, that is DXP. Thank god for Pan-Pizza
Seriously, DXP is the prefect example of "actually pretty good ideal" to "excused terribly"
There was something about this video that made me cringe in a way that I haven't in a really long time. It was mainly during that DragonForce segment, but most of the shows just seemed really off.
To make matters worse, I watched the Neopets video he mentioned and that made me super uncomfortable. I'm not even sure what they were talking about (I couldn't force myself to watch any more) but the mood between Pan and the girl was really awkward.
The concept of video game television was so ahead of its time when G4 first aired, but even well over a decade later, the same idea managed to be executed poorly by a completely different set of people.
That documentary-style thing is definitely the type of thing I'd like to see on television, but I can see why that wouldn't be able to carry an audience, especially trying to be aimed at youth. It's so pointless though to try and let internet entertainers carry a channel, because I'm sure most kids would rather watch their favorite entertainer on their phone or tablets than turn on the television and watch the same thing, albeit censored for television.
I wonder if we'll ever see the day where somebody decides to create a promising gaming channel that has all the good stuff some of us remember from G4, and maybe even some new ideas or concepts that are actually worthwhile. At least the one good thing about DXP is that it's showing us more ways to NOT approach the concept of a video gaming channel.
Pan and everything related to him is really awkward, like... uncomfortably awkward
Watch Pan's podcast to see what I mean
he missed one of the best shows on dxp which is competitive drone racing
that was legit some cool shit
Someone post the clip from the unedited version of one of these shows - the one where they're talking about memes and the first video they pull up on youtube is Spongebob opening a box that says "nigger faggot" on the inside.
