I used to go through 32 cups of coffee a day- it's hard but it's definitely possible to cut back of caffeine intake.
How on earth she got a clean bill of health from her dentist god only knows.
"I used to have three cans, then six cans, then more and more. I remember getting to 20 cans a day. And now, if I don't have them, I end up with migraines."
Maybe you should have stopped when you got to two cans, hell one. 20 cans though, that's long past the point of "Maybe I shouldn't drink these shits and start limiting my intake"
I hope she gets the help she needs. I know she'll feel much better once she doesn't have 3,000 calories of sugar and caffeine floating around in her bloodstream. I can't even imagine how she deals with it tbh. That would drive me insane. How does she not have constant heartburn?
If she really wanted to continue her addiction she should just switch over to powdered caffeine at this point. Essentially the same thing and lacking all that nasty junk that's in an energy drink.
God damn, that is insane.
I used to drink about one a day, and had two big 24oz cans within a single day and made myself absolutely sick. I can't even smell a Monster without wanting to puke.
I missed the line with this
The former gambling addict has been warned about the health dangers of consuming so much sugar and caffeine.I
I should have guessed anyone that takes energy drinks to that excess would a have problems with moderation in general. Seems like some one with a serious predisposition towards addiction.
I used to drink it just without thinking, but then i had an incident after basically eating a big lug of caloric dinner and an energy drink, then lying in bed speedballing that shit, heart racing and basically feeling like i was going to have a stroke.
After that i never touched it again.
I'm surprised she isn't morbidly obese or something. Still, that's gotta cut into her wallet something fierce; energy drinks ain't cheap. For me, getting something like a Monster Khaos is a rare, expensive treat. It's - like - $3-4 for a 16oz. can.
Y'know, I've always wanted to try Irn Bru, but they'd probably screw with the recipe if it were brought here to the States.
how is she not dead from drinking that much a day
Kids have legitimately died from drinking less. Of course, they're kids with weaker and developing bodies, but yeah I wouldn't be terribly surprised if this addiction killed her.
Had a single cup of coffee today. Started feeling off. Definitely not compatible with coffee. Might even be an intolerance. It just leaves me uneasy for a few hours.
You'll notice her eyes are the same color as her skin. If she quit today, right now, she'd still have serious endocrine, kidney and liver issues for the rest of her life soon enough. I guess the "good news: is her chances of getting dementia have dramatically decreased. yay.
Everytime I think of monster energy drinks, I think of old co worker who looked like a zombie with wax on her face. She always had a monster in hand and eventually started having kidney problems. That shit will fuck you up.
Energy drinks are so unhealthy its a wonder her liver and kidneys haven't given up yet
This is super bad for you, but frankly it is pretty much on par with a lot of alcoholics. It is shocking how much abuse your liver and kidneys can take before they give up.
i used to be on 2 monsters a day, now i don't touch energy drinks unless someone offers me one. but my day wouldn't start if i didn't get the caffeine and sugar and i would crash in the arvo.
Its probably your body just not used to it.
I used to have pretty bad caffiene anxiety, but now I usually start the day with a coffee. Still couldn't do a giant energy drink can, but they don't appeal to me in the first place.
I used to have a red bull before going into work and then usually another one towards the end of closing shifts and more times than not I genuinely felt like my heart was about to give out or explode from it, this shits bonkers
I drink at least 6 cans of Coke Zero / Pepsi Max a day - I can't stand the taste of water (it ain't tasteless to me). It used to be regular Coke but ended up switching to the alternative not wanting to gain weight considering I don't exercise. I've basically been doing this for the last 10-15 years with no health issues or weight change (~70kg). I'm sure I'll regret it one day but until then it's been fine.
Aso chiming in as a fairly heavy diet coke drinker.
Not a fan of water, what can I say.
It will factually fuck up your teeth, your gums and your pancreas and gall bladder.
Factually.
I have no idea why you would believe that 6 cans of artificial sweetener acid water is perfectly safe. Do you have a source?
its not like she's chugging down gallons of alcohol or packs of cigarettes, sugar and caffeine are quite manageable
Artificial sweeteners affect metabolism and insulin levels
so they have a carcinogen instead. got it.
How many goalposts are you going to move before you accept that maybe a can full of faux-sugars and acidic contents is not good for your body?
I slammed down 6 Monster cans (0.5L) in a day circa 2013-2014.
I can still remember being in bed, wishing for death. I have no idea how this woman can function at any level.
I used to work at a shitty understaffed restaurant during the summer and it would be normal to work 9 hour days for 7 days at a time. By day three I found that if I slammed an energy drink it would give me that kick to make it through any meal rush. Eventually I ended up drinking three a day for 6 days and when day 7 rolled around I was in shit condition. I could barely stand straight, it felt like I was having heart palpitations and I looked like a neurotic zombie. I think I aged my heart by 20 years drinking that much but I did make a point in only drinking sugar-free energy drinks.
Get a water filter.
