Former vice president Joe Biden may or may not end up running in 2020, but his Tuesday speech in Miami decrying sexual assault found one man in its crosshairs: President Trump.
"A guy who ended up becoming our national leader said, 'I can grab a woman anywhere and she likes it,'" Biden said, referencing Trump's bragging about sexual assault in a 2005 recording. "They asked me if I’d like to debate this gentleman, and I said no. I said, 'If we were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him.'"
Biden made that remark in 2016 ahead of the presidential election. But at this week's event at the University of Miami, part of the nationwide anti-assault campaign "It's On Us," the former VP specifically highlighted Trump's defense of his on-tape remarks as merely "locker room talk."
"I've been in a lot of locker rooms my whole life," Biden said. "I'm a pretty damn good athlete. Any guy who talked that way was usually the fattest, ugliest S.O.B. in the room."
Both comments from Biden drew applause from students in the room. (And while boxing experts like Trump's odds in a theoretical fight against Biden, the bone spurs Trump claimed in order to avoid the draft as a young man may affect his footwork.)
Biden tied the criticism of Trump on Tuesday to a call for men on the university's campus to hold one another accountable to prevent acts of sexual assault.
“Guys, any man on campus who sees a fraternity brother taking a drunken co-ed up the stairs and doesn’t walk up and say, ‘Not in my house’ is a damn coward,” Biden said. “Flat, simple coward. Coward!"

It's kind of funny to see the way people turn out later in life and imagine them in high school. Biden was almost certainly a jock. As was George W. Bush. Trump, though? The sort of narcissistic, friendless creep who only had as followers the people who wanted to get in his rich dad's good graces.

But in all seriousness Biden's won everything aside from 1988 and 2008 Presidential Nominations. Trump technically dropped his bid for the Reform Party ticket in 2000. I'd like to see the Election in 2020, and much more would like to see Biden outdo Trump and whatever his running mate is level Pence.

I agree. Dont get me wrong, I like Biden, but I sincerely wish there remained a modicum of profesionality in politics and among politicians. This remark wasn't that professional, and I think it degrades him to stoop to making a Trump level comment.

If only the Democrats had a spine when it came to calling out Trump's horrible policies as well, but they tend to be suspiciously silent on that end.
It's also worth noting that Joe's been known to be weirdly touchy-feely with women while he was VP, giving weird shoulder rubs and stuff unsolicited. Even Jon Stewart called him "Groper Cleveland".
Yeah I think I remember some of that stuff. I guess its pretty funny, and perhaps sad, how much we forget these days with Trump in office.
I mean don't get me wrong, it was inappropriate and the women often looked noticably awkward and uncomfortable while he was doing it, his actions still don't hold a candle to what Trump openly bragged about.
Oh, I agree completely. But I still stand by my point that we oftentimes forget things that would have made the news back simply because what is going on now is a hundred times more ridiculous.
And yet if they had an actual arranged fight, I get the feeling someone would make an excuse to get out of it. Hmmm.
