conservatism just seems like an endless circle of applying simple solutions to complex problems and assuming it all worked out, while denying the opposition any chance to apply a complex solution to a complex problem

First thing that popped into my mind was that thing awhile back where a church put a statue of Jesus sleeping on a bench on the grounds and the neighborhood complained about it and asked for it to be removed.
